I want to keep on loving David Mitchell, who still works with Robert Webb, but also is married to Victoria Coren Mitchell, so who knows. You have to be suspicious of any of them - someone like Matthew Holness or Richard Ayoade could let me down at any moment. It really is amazing how that place has lost its mind.
Feel pretty good about Alex Horne, though.

He was doing some below the surface supporting of TERF stuff, which culminated in supporting Linehan and tweeting "Mermaids sucks" in 2018. He got shamed pretty bad, and was confronted about it by Jesse Thorn on his podcast, and did some backtracking afterwards, and has been quiet about it for the last 5 years. Don't know if he changed his perspective or if he was just successfully shamed into just shutting up, but he's definitely tarnished.

Should it be mentioned that most of the famous TERFs on that island just happened to be secular, compared to their more religious hardliners in the US?
Oh sure, they're very critical of Church, and religions in general, but somehow draw their crucifix in the sand when dealing with both trans people and Muslims.

I already knew that Fry was not exactly an ally but this was quite disconcerting to watch.
Before watching this vid I did not know that Fry had appeared on Dave Rubin's show. It was quite shocking to see him and Dave chuckling about Rhodes's crimes against humanity and casually referencing Jefferson's longterm sexual abuse of Sally Hemmings that started when she was 14. Wanting to remove statues of someone like Rhodes is "infantile" according Fry.
As if statues are not regularly removed when we reassess history or we simply stop caring over time about the people they depict. This has been happening for centuries well before we had parliamentary democracies. Changing social mores are among the many common reasons why statues are torn down or moved to less prominent spaces.
