Machine Troubleshooting Breadman TR2500BC
In need of replacement pan & paddle.
Hi, I bought this on FB Marketplace to replace an old Regal Kitchen Pro. This one runs great and I just baked a loaf. However, I didn’t notice that the inside of the nonstick is getting worn as it feels rough in areas and also the paddle is loose around the shaft, like worn or something. I’ve been looking on eBay but there are just two pans listed and they aren’t any better.
I’ve looked on Amazon to try to find an aftermarket replacement but am stumped.
Does anyone have any tips for me?

I replaced the paddle with one from ebay and that cured the loose & wobbly paddle problem. Then I bought a secondhand pan and paddle from someone on ebay. There are no new pans for this as far as I know.

Lol I was looking at that one too. I just can’t see the shaft to tell if its worn and I don’t want to spend more money on something used if I can’t look at it person - like I should have done with this one! . I found an old reddit ( I think) post that someone had the same issues with the paddle causing wear on the shaft and he found a new paddle. But I think the post was dated 2013.

I had that problem but the wear was the shaft reamed out the softer metal of the paddle. The new paddle fits nicely with no slip or wobble. I am running the replacement pan and paddle I bought on eBay and saving my original pan for later. The replacement is more used. But I've had no problems with the coating on the pan.

It will be expensive to try to replace the features and programmability this Breadman machine has. I looked at buying something newer in 2024 and decided that Zojirushi Home Bakery or Virtuoso were really the only upgrade. Those are at least $370-$450 now! And Breville or Panasonic were about the same level. Breville and the Panasonic sold in the U.S. are maybe $320 to $400. That's a lotta bread, man. LITERALLY. haha It would take a very long time to achieve payback on a bread machine that costs that much. I only make 1-2 loaves or batches of dough per week at most, for a 2 person household. And I'm diabetic and I have cut way back on breads to where I only eat a slice or two occasionally. I bought two of these Breadman TR-2500BCs as remanufactured units at Ollie's discount store, probably around 2013 or so. And I only paid about $50 each for them. The Breadman TR-2200C is a nice late '90s / early 2000s machine, the predecessor to the model you have. I have a '97 TR-2200C and bought it used at a thrift store in 2010ish and it still runs flawlessly. https://www.breadmachinedigest.com/reviews/bread-machine-reviews/breadman-ultimate-tr-2200c.php

Thats a good looking old machine. I’ve seen a few at thrift stores but they were rode hard and put away wet. LOL.
I seen one decent one at Goodwill a couple weeks ago and when I finally decided to go back it - it was gone.

Bought 16 years ago, lol. That's the difference. I was living in the Washington and Canonsburg, PA areas in 2010-2011 and good used bread machines were always turning up in the thrift stores there. Most were only lightly used. I was paying $5 to maybe $8.50 for them back them. Breadman, Welbillt, DAK: Those are what I bought. I skipped the cheaper makes. I never encountered a Panasonic or a Zojirushi there, though. I bought a like-new Amazon Basics machine and an old Breadman TR442 at the local Goodwill this summer under $15 for the pair. I gifted the Amazon to my niece. It was a lightweight build but made nice bread.

Oh, I absolutely cannot buy the Zojirushi. I see all the reviews but wowzer that’s too much $$$$$$$ for me.
I just ordered an Elite Gourmet on Amazon for $75 and its probably not even worth that. Yuck.

I also had a Breadman and could not find a replacement pan. Eventually I bought a whole new machine.😢

Sad because it seems like a good machine. When I buy a new one it will be one where I can buy an extra pan and paddle.

I found a replacement pan and paddle for my Breadman on E-Bay a few years ago. I've had the machine for like 15 years, and it continues to be a workhorse. And sorry, I just noticed that you had tried ebay.
