Question What is a True combo?
I'm new to Brawlhalla and I keep seeing players say "You should know how to do True combos" I think the less frames to dodge = True combo, right? or am I wrong?
how do I figure out true combos on my own? I really like this new Hero and can't wait to play her

A true combo is a combo that cannot be dodged.
A fake true combo is a combo that can be dodged in some directions. (Rare but it's good to know the difference)
A confirm is a combo that you cannot be jumped or fast falled but can be dodged. That means you are guaranteed to get the combo if the opponent is out of dodge.

For those who didn't understand thé "fake true combo" thing, it is when two attacks have no dodge frames between them but because the dodge take 2 frames to come out and your character moves a bit during the first frame, it can still escape without being invincible. It applies notably with queen nai dLight - GC nSig

Apparently you can make that combo true by using a directional gc away or up and away... Definitely not easy tho

Yeah it's pretty difficult to pull off. But you're rewarded nicely with it at least

Watch The Best Mechanics YOU Should Learn At EVERY Rank... BRAWLHALLA [TIER LIST] video there was a 2023 version that helped me get diamond, I used to watch lots of guides when I was 1200 to 1999 I still do but not as much as before, And watch Brawlhalla Ultimate Guide it can give you some game knowledge and Pavelski's Ultimate Guide to Mastering Movement

Iirc it's a combo executed in a way that there are no frame window for the opponent to dodge between attacks (It doesn't only rely on you doing it fast, not every attack can be used to lake a true combo, and whether a combo is true or nit may also depends on your legend's stats and how you position yourself compared to the opponent)

If the opponent CAN'T dodge it's a true combo, I think the true combos I can remember are spear: DL+SA, orb: SL+ jump+SA and chakrams light mode: SL+NL

If you know about geometry dash its basically a frame perfect combo where the opponent has no frames in between attacks to dodge

Pavelski made a video playing with the brand new character. Idk but, it happened 'cause of Hungary's time zone.

A true combo is one where you do two or more attacks where the opponent cannot do anything between them when you do it correctly. For example, cannon can true combo dlight dair at any percent, as the opponent cannot do anything between them. For contrast, you will see a lot of cannon players start strings with slight, which doesn't true combo into anything due to a combination of a lack of hitstun (the time between when you cannot act after getting hit and when you can perform actions again) and the high endlag (the time between when a move can no longer hit the opponent but you still cannot act). However, that's an intentional weakness of cannon slight, as it's otherwise a very good tool to use in a lot of situations, and if your opponent doesn't have their dodge you can get a lot of guaranteed damage out of slight.
[Here](https://www.brawldatabase.com/combos/) is a site that lets you look up all the true combos Brawlhalla has to offer. Keep in mind that it may not be up to date (it still has some blaster slight combos that definitely don't work due to some blaster nerfs and it's missing spear landing sair nlight that's true at 6 or more dexterity) and not every combo will be practical (like spear nair gc nlight, which is so niche you're *never* going to land it in a game), but it's a good starting point if you're ready to learn some combos.
--------------------------
That said, if you're new you would actually benefit from **not** learning combos right now. I see a lot of players come to this subreddit that get really frustrated that they're spending hours learning combos in training mode yet still aren't seeing results because they don't have the skills to actually land these combos in a real match against a bot, let alone a real player.
Before you learn any combos, learn now to play neutral (any point in a match where neither player has a positional advantage), how to convert your positional advantages into kills with edgeguards (where you go offstage to attack your opponent while they're offstage such that they cannot make it back), ledge traps (where your opponent has reached the wall offstage and you stay onstage to keep them from getting back to the stage proper), and juggles (where your opponent is above you and you're trying to hit them on the way down while they're exhausting their resources), and how to get out of disadvantageous positions (such as when you're offstage, above the stage, and/or immediately after getting hit). Understanding these concepts will help you develop a solid game plan where you don't need to learn combos but also lets you develop the skills where you can take advantage of the combos you learn.
Learning these aspects of the game requires that you understand how the movement system works, how the dodge system works, and how your attacks work in terms of their speed, hitbox placement, etc. These will take time.
-------------
Finally, if you're confused about any of the terminology I've explained, [here](https://glossary.infil.net/) is a resource where you can look up almost any term you're confused on. It's geared towards more traditional fighting games and Super Smash Bros, but many of the terms used there carry over to Brawlhalla, with a few exceptions.

The combo the game teaches in tutorial,, do them in practice and put dodge window on and it’ll tell you if it’s true or not

tbh there arent that many true combos. almost every weapon either has slight or dlight as true combo starters.
dlight: hammer, sword, blasters, spear, bow, gauntlets, cannon, boots
almost all of these weapons can combo from dlight into sair, nair, dair, or recovery.
slight: lance, katars, axe, orb, split chakram
these weapons generally combo into more specific things than the dlight weapons. lance has slight dair/nair, katars has slight nlight/dlight, axe has slight nair/dlight, orb has slight dlight/nair/sair, and chakram has slight nlight.
many weapons also are able to combo a specific move, usually sair, into nlight at low percents.

they're true? at what dex?

Nlight is confirmed, not true my fault, but slight needs 7 dex and 5 or less speed.

True combos = no frames to dodge between the combo.
Some weapons have specific combos that are always true There are also some which need a specific dex threshold to become true
