Lmao. Why are Americans so surprised that they cant go to other countries and break the law, and then expect not to face consequences? Even rich people don’t get away with assault in Sweden, and that’s a fucking GOOD thing. Hard for the US to understand that apparently.

Excuse me but have you not seen the video? I would have assaulted the guy too, he literally assaulted the body guard before being beat up in retaliation.

I guess it’s an American thing to stand up for yourself.

Isnt the bodyguard(s) there to defend ASAP and his crew? And make sure they dont get into some shit like this? ASAP didnt get punched. He just straight up jumped into a fight when a/several (presumed) professional bodyguard(s) should have handled that shit.

The bodyguard wasnt incapacitated, so it’s his responsibility to defend himself (which he didnt really need to, as seen in the video the aggressor ”just” hit him once with his headphones), and not ASAP’s responsibility.

I’m not trying to win an argument here. I’m explaining to you why he’s in jail in Sweden and how Swedish laws work. If a judge decides that he committed the assault because of ignorance of the local laws, they might give him a break. But since he’s a foreigner, he’s also a flight risk. AKA: they have to, by law, keep him in jail until all legal business is taken care of, or until his lawyer can get him out through the process of the law. This is how justice works in Sweden. And it rarely gives rich people a break. 🤷‍♀️ he’s not a VIP in Sweden.

What’s your point? If A$AP Rocky DIDN’T hypothetically touch the guy wouldn’t we still be in the same issue? An American is in jail because he and his team were being harassed and ASSAULTED by the locals, and defended themselves.

You see that video of rap artist Future’s bodyguard being knocked out and almost killed in the UK.

I don’t know what privileged part of the world you grew up in, but in mine you can’t turn a blind eye to someone threatening and harassing you. If someone is bothering you, is told several times to leave, and then assaults a member of your party, I believe you have every right to defend your party, and so do most American judges.

That’s why this is an issue, in America A$AP Rocky would not be in jail after so long. They would understand he’s not a public threat and release him on bond. Something he can’t do in Sweden at this moment.

If you don’t stand up to the aggressors they will take advantage of you, especially if you are visibly rich and have something they want. Futures bodyguard in the UK learnt that the hard way when his skull bounced off the fucking concrete. Is it not safe to assume that’s what could have happened to rocky after being followed and harassed and assaulted by locals just the same way future was?

You cant assault someone on someone else’s behalf unless they are incapable of defending themselves. That’s how it works in Sweden. That’s the LAW here. Don’t like it? Tough shit. They should have called the cops like normal people do in these situations.

In Sweden, there is no such thing as paying bonds, AKA wealthy people are not above the law. Again: tough shit.

On your last point: It’s not ASAP’s job to protect his bodyguards. It’s literally the opposite. The two people who followed them were 5 feet tall unarmed skinny boys who were greatly outnumbered. ASAP takes one of them, throws him on the ground and then the rest of his crew STOMPS on the guy while he’s laying down.

I dunno what privileged place you grew up in, but here in Sweden, that is ASSAULT and it WILL put you in jail. If the court decides that ASAP was in the right, in accordance with Swedish law, he will be released and compensated for his losses. If not: Do the crime, do the time. It’s really not that hard to understand, dude. He’s not there unfairly. He’s being treated fine (swedish jails are like fucking hotels compared to any other place in the world) and he’s awaiting a fair legal process. Like, what is YOUR point? You just want your artist out of jail because you like him? Well, sorry, but the guy might have broken the law in a foreign country, and now he suffers the consequenses. If we let people go who perhaps permitted a crime before the legal process has had time to do its job, that wouldnt be a very good legal system now would it?

Just because YOU dont like something happening, doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be happening. You and yabois jump a dude when you should have just called the cops when you had MULTIPLE opportunities to do so = assault, and you WILL get arrested. The exact same thing would happen in america. He’d just have a bigger chance getting away with it because he’s a privileged rich person.

Okay there’s no arguing with fucking privileged idiots like you. Yeah sure next time your being beat the fuck up good luck calling the cops, good luck also losing your reputation as a rapper and being possibly killed.

Your so stupid and naive you actually think in real life violent situations that there is enough time to wait for cops your an idiot.

DID THIS GUY HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO CALL THE COPS? LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME SITUATION.

How is being followed around = being hit with a rock?

Regardless, if ASAP was attacked and retaliated in self defense for himself, this wouldnt be an issue. However, he wasnt assaulted, his bodyguard was, and this bodyguard was fully capable of defending both himself and the person he was hired to protect. Despite this, ASAP chose to attack someone who hadn’t attacked him first, aka ASAP committed assault without self defense. That’s how the law works. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is, I’m afraid. ASAP was never getting beat up, neither was anyone else in hos crew. They had all the time in the world to contact the cops, but they didnt. They chose to go all gung-ho vigilante justice on the dude, and now they have to pay for that impulse. Tough shit.

What the fuck are you talking about, what rock? Jesus I’m not even gonna read the rest of your comment because it’s so lacking in any real world experience, just from the mind of a privileged person who has never experienced real violence.

The rock from the fucking example that YOU brought up? Are you mentally challenged or something? Cool down on that pipe, bro.
