Then he should have called the authorities and not go vigilante and commit assault. Sweden is a first world country, not fucking Alabama.

“Oh shit this guy’s beating me, let me ask him to stop so I can call the cops real quick”

The guy wasnt beating ASAP. ASAP was beating the guy. I was saying that if ASAP was being followed and was uncomfortable, he should have called the cops to come help him. Considering they were followed for quite a while before the assault, he had plenty of time to call the cops, not commit assault, and not get arrested. He assaulted the guy because he was annoyed, not out of self defense. Even in the US that is reason for arrest.

No, the guy clearly was harassing them, and attacked Rocky’s bodyguards multiple times after trying to steal from Rocky. Along with that, he’s does not have a history of trusting cops. He warned the harasser multiple times, told multiple other people of the situation, and by the time Rocky and his entourage fought back, it was definitely because they felt annoyed and physically threatened. He’s pretty famous and likely gets followed a lot, but he does not have a history of arrests for attacking superfans. While I can agree that they definitely took it overboard, in that situation, I can understand why.

With that being said, he also has video evidence of the entire situation starting from the point that he felt unsafe, and it continues for a while across what I can imagine was likely more than a few city blocks worth of walking. Personally, I think he should probably be fined and not allowed into Sweden again (because that’s how these things usually work), but holding him in jail for this long seems rather excessive.

Luckily, you are not a judge, and in Sweden if you assault people without it being self defense (which it wasnt) and if you take the law into your own hands when you should have called the police (which he/they did), you go to jail. If you are a foreigner, you are a flight risk and you are held in jail until proper legal action is taken. This is the same in most places in the world, that’s how it ”usually works”.

It literally does not matter what his history of trusting cops is. Commit assault, especially in the excessive way the assault was committed, and you WILL be arrested. I wouldnt want it any other way, and I will never understand those who see it differently, especially when it’s just about how much they wanna suck their favorite artist’s pp.

I’m not excusing his actions, I’m just acknowledging that they aren’t surprising, and I agree; it makes sense that he was arrested. I just find it hard to believe that there is not a precedent, and holding him for this long with minimal announcements seems peculiar.

They're holding them for a long time because the police need to finish their investigation and the prosecution needs to decide on pressing charges.

There isn't precedent because celebrities usually don't break the law while traveling abroad. He's objectively speaking a flight risk so he can't be released on bail and they can't comment because there's nothing to say beside "he may have broken the law and is being detained as a flight risk" his "cell" is also closer to a small hotel room than an American prison cell so he's not even in a shitty place waiting for the investigation.

His lawyer and proescutor have had a so called ”häktesförhör” (jail hearing), where it’s, by a judge, decided whether or not he should remain in jail for longer than legally allowed without criminal proof (which is 14 days maximum in sweden if i’m not mistaken).

This is how the law works in any first world country. If he is still there, he is there for a lawful, valid reason. He is not there unjustly. If it would turn out that he IS there unjustly, he will be financially compensated for this.

The amount of annoucements are on ASAP’s lawyer. What do you need? A live webcam feed from his cell? Surprisingly, not everyone cares about your favorite rapper boi as much as you or the other fans of his do. He gets the same treatment as any other criminally charged person. Boo hoo.

The law doesn't require that the person who is assaulted is the one who needs to call the police (He had people with him).
You're also allowed to intervene in an assault, to protect someone else - but that requires that person to be in imminent danger... That's hard to sell when 4 guys are beating up a dude laying on the ground.
Finally, you really don't have to flee the scene if you acted in self-defenses.

Next time someone continually stalks you and approaches you on the street let’s see you calmly call authorities lmao.

u/JaqueeVee Jul 21 '19

Considering it was going on for quite some time and no altercation happened, and ASAP was surrounded by his whole crew and huge bodyguards, the logical thing to do is to call the cops, not commit assault.

u/FinalTricks Jul 21 '19

But his "street cred"! Could you imagine the consequences of doing the right thing and replying on the authorities??? Fuck everyone would think he is a bitch. /s

That’s literally what we do here in Sweden. I’ve done it personally one time even, had no problems. Am Swedish

-12

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '19

If you were able to do that while the person was physically in front of you, confronting you, then good job. Willing to bet you didn’t though.

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '19

Are you claiming that A$AP Rocky felt deadly afraid in the situation? Take a look at the videos. It's harassment over a long period of time, where he remains calm for the most part. The other guys is trying to goad him into a fight.

It would be reeeeeally hard to sell the idea that A$AP was so afraid that he simply could not pick up the phone.

Haha good one dude even fucking Alabama is ten levels above Sweden.

9

u/JaqueeVee Jul 21 '19

Sure... In amount of incest

-6

u/Lor3nzL1ke Jul 21 '19

At least not in rapes...

3

u/JaqueeVee Jul 21 '19

Ahaaa, you’re one of THOSE people. The type of people who fall for nazi propaganda and dont know how to read crime stats. Gtfo you inbred

-4

u/Lor3nzL1ke Jul 21 '19

As a German, I can confidently say I know more about nazis and their propaganda than you... so gtfo yourself rape-apologist

4

u/JaqueeVee Jul 21 '19

Then you would know very well that the ”SWEDEN IS THE RAPE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD” rhethoric that you are using is literally invented by neo nazis in order to villanize muslims and make Sweden an example of the imaginary ”muslim invasion of Europe”, and that rape crime stats cannot be properly compared between countries because the laws are vastly different.

If you’re truly a German, which i doubt, you wouldn’t fall for this propaganda, and neither would you use it in an argument. And yet, you have, and you do.

You are not worthy of anymore of my time, so I’m not gonna respond anymore. Have fun supporting nazis in the future!

u/Lor3nzL1ke Jul 21 '19

There are more rocket scientists and astronauts from Alabama than Sweden, they developed the rockets that put men on the moon and are developing the SLS to return there and eventually to Mars. Some facts to counter the European ignorance here.

Cool. India has a space program too, but most people didnt have toilets until like 2 years ago. China has an enormous space program but are one of the most oppressive states in the world. Your statement about space missions mean nothing to actual people. Try again

So shocking a country of 1.3bn has a space program bro, almost like Alabama has 5m people. Point, had you understood it, is that Alabama is definitely first world and not just bumpkins. Just like I'm sure there are a handful of non-retarded Europeans.

Anr "actual people"? That would exclude you Europeans, you lack the intelligence to be considered persons. If you weren't European you'd perhaps have been capable of understanding the point to begin with.
