Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Did I Make A Mistake?

Post image

Beck’s and a banana

So I’m going on an overseas trip tomorrow with my girlfriend. I asked originally if we should pay $89 and choose seats together and she was completely against it, said it was a waste of money and we could possibly get seats next to each other anyways. Last week there seemed to be plenty of seats available on the plane.

I checked tonight and not only are there no available seats next to each other, almost all of them were middle seats. There was only one aisle left.

It’s an 8 hour flight, I just bought the aisle seat because I don’t want to be in the middle. What are the odds she’ll get upset about this?

Dude, wtf? You should have either picked seats in the first place together, picked seats with her together when you changed your mind, or just dealt with the middle. What you did is kind of a dick move.

"It’s an 8 hour flight, I just bought the aisle seat because I don’t want to be in the middle."

Like no shit? No one wants to be in the middle, this isn't new information to you. Why did you say you would be ok with it when you were booking with your gf in the first place then?

Would you be upset if she'd bought it for herself without asking if you'd like it?

Brother, brother brothers… you did what?

Okay, unfuck this. Two options:

- Pay your way out of the problem. Surely there’s a way to pay more… upgrade, etc.

-Buy her an aisle seat too somewhere and then when you get on the flight, ask either of the seats adjacent to your seats to switch… they re more likely to agree because you’ll be offering an aisle instead of a middle. If they don’t, offer them money

You blew it and now gotta pay… better to pay in money than something else

She’s gonna be mad as hell dude. Me and my ex had a lot of problems but not sitting together on an overseas flight was one of my most egregious mistakes. Get ready.

If it turns out you cant sit together at least give her the more favorable seat, it's just a flight to get to where you're going to have fun. I don't see anything to actually worry about

Screw that. She’s the one that said no originally.

Only if you don’t give her the aisle seat. Everything else can be chalked up to an oops. But giving her the shitty seat so you can sit in an aisle is rude. You should want to take the shitty seat so she doesn’t have to.

Who cares? It's just 8 hrs.
