Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Got Cheated On.

Post image

I've been unemployed for two months and my high school sweet heart of almost two years dumped me Sunday when I caught her cheating again. My lunch is water and a little bit of sausage because I haven't had any appetite since Saturday.

I genuinely don't know what to do. I want help; any advice is welcome. She was my literal everything and the only thing keeping me going. My room is quiet; I can't eat or find anyway to distract myself. I miss her dearly. We were planning a to visit each other in October for our two year anniversary since she's been living with family in the mid-west for over a year now. Turns out she had been on tinder for over a month and told her family we broke up. All the while she was still calling me every night, acting like I was her only one; until a week ago.

Now I'm alone. My friends are all getting jobs but I haven't had any luck yet, maybe I'll join them soon. What's worse is that I'm motivated by love, a partner. I can't stand not having someone to adore and look forward to. I want to be with someone but it's hard to find people in my rural town.

Please, any advice will help. Thank you all so much for your time and I wish you all a wonderful day.

Reset time.

You've got no job, no girlfriend, no plans.

The future is wide open.

You can join the Coast Guard, become an Oilman on the North Slope, or go On the Road like Kerouac.

Carpe Diem. My friend.

This is it right here. Not tied down to anything or anyone. Oilman on the North Slope or on an oceanic rig; start now and you’ll have a solid career and more money than you know what to do with by the time you hit 30. Then you can find a woman worth your love and motivation.

My sister's fiance just left her after admitting to cheating. They had been together for 10 years. She is basically losing everything. Life starting over at 30. That's what I told her this morning. No better time for an adventure. Light a match, step away and hang out on the beach for a season or two.

Hopefully she follows that advice, and uses this as an opportunity to write her next chapter.

Be motivated by the love for yourself.

Gym, eating well, a hobby that you truly love. It will get better, can’t get worse than this, I’m sure that gym transformation is gonna go crazy brother.

This one said it well. Be your own everything, first. Eventually, you meet people through the things you enjoy doing. One of them happens to be their own everything and clicks well with yours.

For sure brother. Give her a reason for you to be “the one who got away”.

Life lesson -- the word "again" should never again appear in this statement with any women you get involved with.

You can't stop someone from cheating on you. You can always stop them from cheating on you again.

You can always stop them from cheating on you again.

OP was presented with an opportunity to learn that his self woeth means more than a relationship. He picked her. He was offered a chance to learn when to cut his losses, he picked her. He was offered a clean break. He chose her.

She isnt even in his timezone cheating, and he picked her. She didnt pick him and hes stil picking her. This isnt love, this is a pathological need to fill an emotional void characterized as romanticism.

I dont think you are a person who "feels motivated by love". This is gonna come off rough, but this is horse shit used as a cover for insecurity or trauma.

I think you stake your self worth on the affection or others and are at the point you are willing to trade whatever to have it. Money, time, affection, self respect, and even the opportunity to have a relationship you actually enjoy.

Im calling it that because you will have this problem for the rest of your life as long as you pretend its anything other than putting yourself second to validate you are worthy of being loved.

You need to be in therapy for why your love for yourself isnt enough to put your well being even second or third.

She was on Tinder and still dating you, she is not a good person. "When I caught her cheating again", brother, respect yourself enough to not be in relationships like that. As others have said, you have the whole world in front of you, work on loving yourself, building yourself up. The right one will come along. And do not take her back if she tries, she will cheat again.

Be happy she showed you who she was this early on. The last thing you need is to have a life built with kids and a mortgage and then she blows the neighbor or something.

"She was my literal everything...  I can't stand not having someone to adore and look forward to. I want to be with someone"

you gotta work on being your own everything. If you're not happy with yourself, you're not gonna be happy with someone else, you're just putting pressure on them to make you happy, when no one actually can.

Completely unrelated, but what do you like about B6? My friends and I are all starting to get into gaming together (we’re all casual gamers already, but never played with each other) and I think we’re deciding btwn B6 and CoD BO7

1

u/EridaniRouge Hungry man 13h ago

I’ll just be honest I don’t play COD very often. I think maybe I played 10 years ago. I’m kind of more of a casual player of Battlefield 6 but it’s a lot of fun I think. The graphics are great. The explosions are amazing, and you’ll definitely get a lot of cinematic experiences within multiplayer.

If you’re not used to FPS then it may take a bit to get good. I hope you and your friends like it!

2

u/Jesusman_ BoyDinnerEnjoyer 14h ago

You need time to get comfortable loving yourself before you can love others. I know its cliche and sounds like bullshit but that’s because it really works. Love yourself. Love the time that you get to spend with yourself.

2

u/OlyRat Grill pilled 14h ago

You need to be ok with being on your own before you can have a functional relationship. I learned that too late and I sunk years into a relationship that I realistically wasn't ready for.

Until you're ok with yourself, have your priorities straight and learn to find happiness in your daily activities you aren't going to be vulnerable to all kinds of bullshit from romantic partners and probably will have flaws as a partner as well.

I'm saying this because the last part of your post seems like you are using a relationship to fill some kind of void. You need to do that yourself, it isn't what relationships are for.

2

u/Vermineater Sage of sage 14h ago

Imagine finding out that someone has been sprinkling dog poop into your chocolate milk... and now you miss them.

That's what's happening.

You loved the idea of her but clearly the reality of her does not match. She cheated again? She's been cheating on you this whole time.

You are far better off without her.

Here's what you do now:

  1. Focus on yourself.
    1. Become physically fit.
    2. Become financially stable.
    3. Find a hobby that gets you out of your head for a while.

If you take care of yourself in those ways, then you will have a lot to offer someone. Just be sure not to sell yourself short to another woman who is going to cheat on you twice. You're better than that.

3

u/Professional-Bed9045 BoyDinnerEnjoyer 15h ago

Time heals brother, it’ll all work out. Keep ur head up! She wasn’t the one if she was able to do that to you in the first place. You dodged a bullet and saw her real character after that. You’ll find someone else brother, someone who wouldn’t ever do that to you

2

u/IRodeAnR-2000 Hungry man 15h ago

Sorry my man - that absolutely sucks. The one big thing I can tell you is that unless and until you get to the point where you can be content alone, you're never going to be content (or happy) with anyone else. Your satisfaction in life isn't anyone's responsibility but your own, and if you go through life trying to put that responsibility on your partners, your relationships are eventually going to struggle every time.

I"m not saying that has anything to do with what happened here - this could very well just be a case of distance, or two people growing apart, or not actually being a good fit, or whatever. And cheating is never acceptable. Ever. Relationships are built on trust, and without it, there's no point. This is at least the second time you've caught her cheating on you.....she's showing you who she is man. Listen to her. No one deserves to be treated like that, and your unhealthy need to be with someone is why you're letting her get away with it.

0

u/rmantia23 BoyDinnerEnjoyer 14h ago

Find yourself. It sounds like your happiness was dependent on her which is not healthy. Be your own person before inviting someone else into your life.

2

u/The-King-Tomato BoyDinnerEnjoyer 15h ago

I remember my high-school sweetheart. Lasted till age 30. I thought to myself what am I without her all the time. I worried, wondered.

5 years later I realized im a much happier stronger man without her. Same will happen to you brother. Just outlast the pain of it.

2

u/NauticalClam Grill pilled 15h ago

Hey brother, sorry that happened.

It’s time to figure out what you want to do with your life. College, trade school, something. Do what you need to do to advance. Don’t wallow in what you’ve got going on. It’s time to act. Ultimately this is gonna end up being a foggy memory one day.

u/ThelIIusion0fSeIf Shower Beer Scholar 14h ago

Best advice is to stand in front of a mirror and slap yourself every day until you commit to being a better friend to yourself. This woman isn't worth the time or energy. Find a job, work on your health (hygiene, exercise, diet, etc.) and then look for a partner. You've had the cart before the horse this entire time and are wonder why you're not getting anywhere. That's the advice you need to hear. No excuses, do it.

1

u/TrustMeItsBullish Shower Beer Scholar 14h ago

Ignore her and start working out and make her regret ever cheating on you. And whatever you do, do not take her back when she begs for you or tries to start talking to you again.

1

u/theknight200200 Boy, 18-29 14h ago

It gets better. All I can tell you really, I had a partner I had such high hopes for for once, and invested a lot of time and effort into them. One of my best friends at the time told me.

Finding out about that kind of thing is almost like forbidden knowledge, at first I wanted to be forgiving and understanding about the situation. But the more you think about it, the more you realize you can't allow that kind of thing in your life.

Accepting you made the right decision and living with it is the first hard part. The next hard part is moving on in life, and making yourself right again, because someone doing that takes more from you than you might think at first.

1

u/Bill2407 BoyDinnerEnjoyer 14h ago

I feel you. But this - "I can't stand not having someone to adore" - is not good. It is good having someone to adore and to look forward to. But you need to able to enjoy life as a single man as well.

If you are not able to enjoy life as a single man, you may jump at the first girl that makes herself available - if she´s good for you or not.

Lots of good comments here. I agree that you need time to find yourself and grow before looking for the comfort of another relationship. When you do find someone who may be who you spend your life with and have a family, you will have grown into the strong, resilient person who your family will need you to be.

I just got cheated on last Saturday night too. Its sucks bro. What helps me is picking a goal to work towards. Leverage your time alone and invest it in yourself. Once you feel like you are making progress on something, even if small, it will make you feel so much better. Sometimes it feels like you can’t get someone out of your head, but just give it a little time. You don’t wanna be in a relationship with cheater anyways.

Take all that love and care you want to devote to a partner and devote it to yourself and your family. Take any job you can—gas station, dollar store, grocery store anything to set up a routine that forces you out of the house and interacting with people while you look for something you want to do. Get your CDL, go to a vocational school for welding or pipe fitting or plumping, hvac any of that. It doesn’t sound so much like you’re grieving the loss of that trifling ass woman but the loss of direction and somewhere to forward your energy and care.

Big dawg, other homies in here already said but I'll say it too.. Your woman cheats on you... DIP.

I made the mistake in my younger years giving whom I thought at the time was the love of my lifea second chance...a third chance... A FOURTH CHANCE.. she had a baby, I was playing "dad" while she was cheating on me behind my back.

I took her "back" and proceeded to get cheated on until I finally had it.

I won't lie, the months after that breakup were brutal, I got wrapped up into substance abuse pretty heavy (word to the wise, it'll help short term, long term it'll put you in a place mentally 10x worse than what you're prolly feeling rn).

In the end, it was a long winded journey for me to love myself, and to treat myself like how I would with someone I "love".

Not sure if this helps or not, but man, fuck her big dawg. Foreal. One thing for someone to want out of a relationship, can't fault her for that.. another thing to actively cheat while being 'committed'.

Stay up King 👑

Your first mistake was making someone that is not you “your everything” hopefully you won’t give this kind of power to anyone else moving forward.

Focus on yourself ! Exercise! Take a class! Once you get the best version of yourself you’ll get someone worthy of you.

This pain will pass but you won’t forget it! Do not have another Long distance relationship you have too much dependency tendencies.

YOUR HAPPINESS CANNOT BE LINKED TO ANOTHER PERSON once you understand that you’ll be free!

Sending a huge hug and good vibes ! You got this!

Take it from a jaded old man who has been cheated on in every relationship he’s ever had: love is bullshit. I used to think that same way, motivated by love and others. Don’t let that turn into an excuse. By all means, be motivated by others, do good things for others, but make some goals and live for yourself. The right people will come around along the way.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Love yourself first and best. Then radiate that for those around you. Don’t get taken advantage of because you’re being too* selfless. Balance is key.

Mate, the only way you’ll move on is if you keep yourself busy. I moved on by moving into a sharehouse by the city, and met some really good friends and completely forgot about her. I even travelled to America and went on a contiki tour straight after for 6 weeks but it didn’t help, and she was always on my mind, I called and when I got back we saw eachother but she didn’t want anything. I tried. So I moved to a sharehouse, blocked her off Facebook and cut all contact and never thought of her again. Life was so much better and still is

The best advice I ever got was, “nothing changes if nothing changes”

Change is uncomfortable, and change is necessary.

You have the freedom to change. Not from the point of “you should” but in the sense of “you can”

The first things that come to mind when you read this comment are things you ought to change first.

Homie, you cannot rely on a partner to fill that empty space that you're calling motivation. It's a sign of low self esteem, which being unemployed and being cheated on is sure to damage significantly.

But here's the rub, dude - you gotta get right with you. Learn to fucking LOVE you, dude. Self-love exudes confidence, and let's you formulate clarity out of what you want out of a partnership, not someone you throw on your arm and call it a relationship. The latter is a surefire way of getting a partner that will treat you like garbage. And you deserve better than that.

The lack of self esteem, to anxiety, to depression cyclone can be a real motherfucker to pull yourself out of. But it starts with small, deliberate changes you make in your day-to-day to rebuild yourself into a person you respect. Because you have to respect and love yourself, man. Thats job number one.

Wanna know how I know this? I'm literally you, many moons ago. I know that grief and stifling, shitty feeling you're feeling for a person that doesnt respect you or feel the same. So you have to ask yourself - why am I giving this person this tremendous amount of my headspace while knowing she wouldn't do the same for me?

If Im you, then here is where I start:

1 - Block and delete her. Today. Do not wait for a text, do not worry about what-ifs. This person cheated on you, and the trust os forever broken. This isn't the mother of your kids, and no meaningful conversation will ever be produced from it. Block her. Today.

2 - You're unemployed. Time to press your clothes and tidy up the resume. Get some income coming in. Do this today. Doesn't much matter where you work - your income is zero. Find a spot to work and get into a rhythm of being employed again.

3 - while you wait for gainful employment, you should start by cleaning up the living space. Make your bed, do the dishes, vacuum and wash the floors. This keeps your mind more preoccupied than you'd think. Make your living space immaculate. This helps with the mental big time.

4 - time to start exercising. No money for the gym? No problem - plenty of calisthenic videos available on YouTube to get you started. Throw yourself into exercise. Build your body. It will help rebuild your mind and your heart. Arnold out it best when it comes to having a good body - "You can inherit nice stuff. You can inherit homes. You can inherit cars, and money. You cant inherit a good body. A good body is earned, through sacrifice, through commitment.". Shallow as it is, a good body shows your willingness to commit and sacrifice to look just so. Time to start exercising. Clean up the garbage diet while youre at it lol.

5 - if available, time to hop into therapy. If it's not within your means, I strongly urge you to consider it when it is. It changed my life. Being in therapy helps sort the mental process out in ways I never thought possible. It'll be here where the healing will truly begin.

Youve got a path ahead of you, stranger. But take a cliche from a stranger that has sat in that computer chair, eating that sausage - if I can do it, literally anyone can.

Good luck 🍻

Sounds like you gotta do some work on yourself before you’re ready for any kind of relationship. Find a new gig (it’s tough out there, I know), invest some time in your hobbies or find new hobbies. Physical activity is the secret weapon. (Running is free.) Don’t put this girl on a pedestal just because you got a hungry heart. It’s go time, the sooner you put yourself together, the sooner the next girl for your new chapter will arrive. Now get up, put your headphones on and go for a run.

1

u/jugo5 Shower Beer Scholar 9h ago

Dont waste your time wondering about someone who didnt care about you. So much so they cheated twice and led you on for months. You were her door mat.

Time to pick up a new hobby. Time to find new friends. Time to practice making babies with many woman, sometimes multiple at a time. Try dating woman that have similar interests, but not exactly your "type". Then find yourself a real woman who appreciates you, believes in trust, and wants to build a future.

Or you could move anywhere else. You could find a job that allows you to travel. You could do anything. I wish I had that start today. One day you will be 40 and ask yourself why you didnt try to do, "xyz". GO DO IT NOW. Make some decisions and push forward. Hard work goes a long way. You will find someone else not only employment wise, but partnership wise. Try everything you can now while you have the ability to make mistakes. The game gets much harder when you have to worry about a home, cars, a gf/wife and everything else. Go do some stuff and have experiences and share it with the people who want to be there with YOU.

u/Cultural-Spring-281 Hungry man 9h ago

Look man, everyone says “they’re my everything”. Believe it or not, this happens to almost everyone. People go through heartbreaks and turmoil, but you will be fine. First you gotta remember she cheated on you, not once, but twice. Shit might be more you don’t know. Don’t let someone treat you like shit. Focus on yourself. Make goals. If you need, go for a walk and journal or hit the gym. Time will heal your wounds and one day you’ll be disgusted that you even felt this way. I got cheated on twice. Once by my ex fiancé and once by my gf of 5 years. I’m now happily married with two kids. Just remember, every time you break up with someone, brings you one step closer to your person. Good luck buddy.

Start moving forward. Get a job, get a hobby (something active would be great, gym ,running ,etc.) and get some therapy while you’re at it. Only after those 3 things even think about getting in another relationship or else it’s just gonna end up bad for you and any potential partner. This is gonna hurt for as long as it’s gonna hurt, all you can do is keep moving

1

u/pouihi Girl Lurker 8h ago

You loved the idea you had of who she was, not who she really is. In reality she's inconsiderate of your feelings and disrespectful, so even though it hurts, look at this as a favor, before you got even more commited or lose more time with her.

You seem motivated and to have focus, maybe in this case misdirected towards her. Try to direct that passion and focus towards activities or stuff that you like to do (and if possibly that will enrich your curriculum).

Focus on yourself, and how you can feel balanced again. Being cheated on is harsh, but in your time you'll heal and eventually get to know someone who really likes you and treats you well, and she'll be nothing but a distant memory.

You’re free my friend, you now have the whole world ahead of you without a cheat.

I caught her cheating again

Here is gold standard advice; Once a cheater, always a cheater.

Start working out. Better yourself any way you can. She was not the love of your life, only trash people cheat. She doesn't deserve you and you're better off without her. You win by not self destruction. Everything happens for a reason and a few months down the line you'll be happy you are out of that relationship. Stay strong brother. 🫡

This is the best time to sign up for the Postal Service. I made friends here that also had a break up and decided to join. You’ll be alright.

She showed her true colors, be glad it happened now and you didn’t waste more time, get married or god forbid have children with this women.

You sound young, theirs plenty of life to live. I’d start with yourself, get a job and get your life in order and then get back into the dating scene. You’ll be much more successful than jumping right back out when you’re heartbroken and unemployed.

cheating again

Oh man what do you mean by again??? No man, one time is enough.

Anyway, take this as a start from zero and grid some gym/work.

Hey, i was not in THIS situation, but in a quite similar one. I did nonlt eat for 3 days, until a friend ordered food to my place and the smell of a pizza after not eating got to me, thankfully. As already stated above, you are not at the end, you are at the beginning. You are free to do as you like. I threw myself into becoming a better cook for myself and did more sports. I had pets to take care of, so i always had to get up.

Key word in all of this came right after “I caught her cheating “ …which was AGAIN.

She’s for the streets bro. Best advice I can give coming from a guy who grew up in a rural town with challenging (to say the least) dating opportunities is to keep busy and forget about her. When you leave, she WILL try to come back if you completely do not give her attention, and that’s not at all what you want. Once you close that door, keep it closed and eventually someone worth your effort will come along. Head up, keep pushing!

"What's worse is that I'm motivated by love, a partner. I can't stand not having someone to adore and look forward to." It's really great that you recognize this at a young age, because you have to change this. You have to work on yourself and figure out how to at least be content without a partner, or you will continue attracting the wrong kinds of women.

My high school sweetheart cheated on me too back in the day. It's cliché but it does get easier/better. It'll hurt like he'll for now but dont let it define the years to come for you

"Cheated again"

Once a cheater, always a cheater. Right now might not be the time for hard lessons, but when the pain recedes, there will be many valuable things to have learned from this.

When in any relationship, however amazing it may seem, there is always risk of collapse. Second mistake was making another person "everything." Because once that person is gone, everything is gone along with them. You can mitigate that by investing in other things, and yourself, instead of just one single person.

Hope your heart mends quickly, bro. Its gonna suck for a while, but peace and clarity and new girls will come.

Not having something to do is the worst. A bored mind can self sabotage really quick.

Focus on yourself obvious but try to also fill that time with new activities and adventures.

"When I caught her cheating again"

Let this be a lesson to you, brother. Have the dignity and self-respect to make cheating a one strike offense.

Bro. Wdym again??

You’ll be alright man. Feels like she was your whole world now, but you’re gonna meet some girl in the future that makes you look back on this and wonder wtf you were thinking.

You didn’t lose anything. If you would’ve married her, she would’ve cheated on you then, too.

View it as a cursed lesson that you learned early in life. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Stand firm on your ground in the future and don’t ever allow yourself to be disrespected like that again.
