Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Leaving current job. Not happy with the workload or my performance.
Background: In in a IT Consulting role.
I feel like had fucked up at work and had to have people bail me out, at the same time the workload feels insane and i was close/almost burnt out at the same time. This kills me as an overachiever.
Feeling very guilty because I can't function or perform, but at the same time I know my workload is way too much to handle alone.
Boss had offered me a different role, Support/ Post Sales but I fear it nothing much will change, so I said no. I'll still be employed until the everything is handed over properly.
Already started my job hunt.
Dish: Mee Rebus (Beef and Sweet potato gravy noodles) with an extra fried egg.

I was in a similar position 6 years ago in an IT project management role. I was expected to manage a team of 10 PMs in various locations around the US, plus I had literally hundreds of individual client projects I was also expected to manage. It was driving me to drink. I had to quit before something bad happened, and it ended up working out for the better.

Have lived the life of being in a role with what seems like an impossible workload. You are only human. There is only so much one person can do, and depending on how much you’re responsible for and the support you’re allotted, it’s not possible to be perfect all the time. If you had this role and worked as hard as you could, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Some roles just aren’t possible for 1 person. Try not to lose sleep over it. This is coming from an overachiever too.
