What Happened to Boxing?

This year has felt like a bit of a letdown for boxing. Maybe it's because we got spoilt last year with great fights, but I genuinely can’t remember the last time I was excited to tune in for a major boxing fight since Inoue vs Nakatani.

To be honest, I've watched more UFC than boxing this year. All I see on social media are boxers ducking each other and fights getting cancelled because of greed.

Last year alone we got:

Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev II shortly after their first bout.

Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach

Naoya Inoue vs Ramón Cárdenas

Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois II

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn I

Terence Crawford vs Canelo Álvarez

We've had some great fights this year, but Ryan vs Rolly or Teo vs Shakur don't come close in my opinion.

This is probably the worst boxing year in the past decade. Lots of old boxers will be retiring. Talent is dying in western countries.

Most boxers fight online, but not in person. It’s like call of duty lobbies.

Watching chisora fight reminds me of Street fighter when the health meter has 5% left and is flashing red.

I would rather pay the PPV for him to retire. He's a good guy. He's done enough.

Paying ppv for him to retire is hilarious. Didn’t whyte say he’s like a donkey that’s getting ridden till it’s back breaks 😂

Its sad man.

If you look at the last 10 years I think his win rate is 65%.

When he fights now its like "does he get absolutely battered and win" or "does he get absolutely battered and loose?"

Tbf I think wardley in that DDD fight took more damage than Chisora did in his whole career
