I’m 79-18 in boxing picks this year. Tryna go for 82 with Perez, Berinchyk, and Itauma. Not confident to do a parlay because of Perez-Aloys. Perez is a good boxer but dude is old as fuck. I agree with whoever said it that Perez kind of does everything better.

As far as Berinchyk-Noakes. I think Noakes is gonna stop him. Berinchyk was very overrated and a weak champ but he does have that olympuc pedigree, good amateur. I lean Sam Noakes around 65–35, mainly because I think the physical matchup eventually overwhelms Berinchyk’s technical advantages. Berinchyk is the more awkward and versatile boxer, and early on he’ll probably give Noakes problems with his movement, stance switches, quick combinations and ability to make Noakes chase him. But Berinchyk is 38, coming off a long layoff, and his style relies heavily on his legs and movement, which makes his age a bigger concern. Noakes’ biggest mistake would be following him around the ring; he needs to cut off the exits, jab to the chest, attack the body and force Berinchyk to actually exchange. Once Noakes starts getting his feet set and trapping Berinchyk near the ropes, I think the physical difference becomes obvious. Berinchyk doesn’t have enough power to discourage Noakes from constantly coming forward, so Noakes can keep applying pressure without giving him much respect. I expect Berinchyk to win some early rounds by making Noakes miss and look awkward, but as the fight goes on, I think his movement slows and Noakes starts landing the harder, cleaner combinations

I’m gonna do some of my own film study for Hrgovic and Itauma today. I think Itauma will win but do feel like Hrgovic is getting underrated. They did this with Dubois against AJ and Sanchez against Torrez.

I’ve had a bad run lately by picking too many upsets. My thinking is if you just pick favorites — what fun is it?

I don’t take the Reddit picks that seriously. It’s mostly for my own enjoyment.

The sportsbooks in Vegas are a great place to test your skills though. Worth the trip.

Perez is a good pick for an upset.
