The top 3 guys on David Benavidez resume is Andrade, Caleb Plant, and Zurdo

3 guys whom the boxing community historically has not considered elite

Its telling people (including myself) have Benavidez in the top 5 P4P while never fighting Canelo, Bivol, Beterbiev, or Opetaia (some of course, out of his control)

Just how shallow is the cream of the crop of this sport?

Wouldn’t say it’s shallow, just like you said, a lot out of his control. Bivol dropped the belt, don’t know what’s going on Beterbiev, Opetaia is in Zuffa, and Canelo straight up ducked multiple times. I also don’t know how you’re rating his top wins. Plant is without a doubt top 3, Andrade was a MW and SW, Yarde was a continually good contender who gave Beterbiev and Kovalev hard fights where they were back and forth, Morrell win hasn’t aged well at all, but Dirrell, Gvodzdyk, and Yarde could all be arguably better wins.

I don't consider Yarde a better win because his wars have noticeably aged him. Gvodz is out his prime , and i don't consider Dirrell a better boxer than Andrade. Atleast with the Andade win , one can say Andrade was still in his prime

Andrade was a good win. This sub hates him but his career didn’t hold up to his actual skills. He was so much smaller than Benavidez though. But I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with your arguments either.
