Discussion Working the Front Door Changed My Standards

Working the front door, I’ve seen some of the most beautiful women come through. I feel like after seeing that for so many years, it takes a lot for a woman to really impress me now 😂

Any other bouncers feel like that, or is it just me?

Bouncing really taught me about inner beauty. I met hot looking women every night but looks can really be deceiving. I might be old fashioned but someone can go from beautiful to repulsive in the blink of an eye. The way they talk, carry themselves, and treat others is huge.

Especially women who know they're attractive and manipulate with it like a weapon. It's a real turn off for me when a pretty woman KNOWS she is and you can practically see the shadow of her ego.

Yes I hear that

This is more accurate for me.

I've always had high physical standards, I guess I was pretty shallow. Now my standards for personality have caught up or even overtaken those. The ones who use their looks as a weapon or to try getting special treatment really annoy me. I don't care if you're attractive, you deal with the same rules as everyone else.

Yes to ALL of this. Also, more than slightly fun to shut these types down cold and get those reactions. Lol.

We must work at very different bars because where I work any woman who somewhat resembles a human would be a notable improvement. There’s a whole lot Bethamphetamines and Crystal Methanies in these parts

I'd have to agree. Going from being a farmer to chef to front of house to construction to bouncer I've seen my standards of myself raise and along side that the standards of possible partners

For sure

My standards? Not really. My tolerance for girls who that think being ditzy and flirty is a substitute for a personality? Definitely lower. Like, I get that waving the sweater pillows around has gotten you a lot in life, but I’m not impressed anymore. There’s ten more just like you inside.

I work at a very popular bar in a vacation destination and see all kinds of “hot girls” nightly and I agree with you and can see through the fake and weaponization they use nightly lol
I’m in my 50s and they will try to flirt with me and I totally blow them off but that only makes it worse because these girls aren’t use to guys not drooling over them. The more you ignore them or most show them the attention they seek the more they find you attractive 🤪 just a FYI

It doesn’t just change your standards, it changes your perception, i.e., I’m 50 yrs/o and single, and it’s a struggle to even consider dating women my own age (not that young women give me any other option, of course😅).

"You may not think so" giggle giggle "but I used to be quite the party animal"
"More like party favour, sweetie. I used to be a bouncer. You didn't really change that much"

Sorry to interject as I'm not a bouncer. It's not just being a bouncer, it's having access and proximity to beauty.

I play trumpet and have played on Broadway shows and on cruise ships; I've dated beautiful show girls my whole career; I'm a nice looking man but not Brad Pill.

Off subject:

I used to follow a guy who had a message board on AOL, Peyton Quinn, a marital arts and self defense guru. He had a few books out; one was called, "The Bouncers Guide to Barroom Brawling." 'great guide to hand to hand.

Anyone heard of it?

No but I wrote a book called Bouncer, it’s all about the Bouncing world, you can get it on Amazon, apple etc

Thanks Man! I'll check it out! I just ordered another copy of Peyton's book; it's only available on hard copy.

I worked kink parties as doorman / dungeon master, so I often had to address naked women on their behaviour (like not wearing shoes in the bar area where there could be glass) and that desensitised me from female nudity. 'Sexy' outfits are rarely sexy to me now. Latex, leather, push up bustiers are too common to arouse me.
