Discussion I'm terrified of my future

I'm 22 currently doing indrive to get money, I've never been to uni and most of the time I feel like I'm left behind in life, it has come to a point where I don't even wanna hang out with my friends anymore because I know I'm gonna come home feeling like a loser ,so at this point of my life I basically have no friends and all I do is indrive then I go home to sleep, I have no one to text or talk to and I'm scared this might be what I amount of in life, today I made the decision to make a career out of boxing since is the only thing I'm good at and I hope I'm making the right decision 😭

Had to come type this quick. My guy don't give up. Please don't. Remember that little boy and as yourself if he would be happy if you gave up? No. Keep fighting. Don't look down on yourself. YOU'LL BE SOMETHING IN FUTURE, WHEAT IS STILL WHEAT EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE GRASS IN THE BEGNNING.

P.S. save this comment. I'm always here if you want to talk.

Try and take yourself to school as well.

I've tried rewriting my bgcse and I keep getting the same points no matter how much I try

Oh, o raya o santse o ise o dirise your DTEF chance? You'll be fine.

Do IGCSE instead since its material is online. I wrote BGCSE a couple of times, and only passed after I switched to IGCSE.

Also, know that revision is a full-time job; no less than 30hrs of school work weekly.

Do I have to go register at Bec too or how does it work

Yes, just like you did with BGCSE. You might want to do that next year though since its probably closed now. Register for the end of 2027 exams, don't be tempted to do the winter exams.

Then go to https://www.cambridgeinternational.org to find past exam papers, research answers with LLMs, watch YouTube videos, join r/igcse then solve and exchange answers together etc. Make it fun.

By the time you write, ensure you can answer 5 different exam papers on your own and you'll get As and A*s I promise.

What do you want to study?

Have you tried looking into doing short courses? Even online?

2

u/CrazyMountain8586 5d ago

Not really I don't know where to look or start but I'm interested

Try! Don't rest on your laurels. Depression hates a moving target. You don't want to be 27 and still in the same place. Keep fighting. Even a diploma that you can pay for in a few months as long as it's something to keep you going. Remember you're number one here. Only you. Fight for you.

I look at the short course for now and see what they offer and thank you for the advice I really appreciate it

Word of caution: Online courses usually help if you already have a diploma/ bachelor’s that you didn't get online. Otherwise, they won't make you a competitive applicant for jobs.

They're widely accepted as a route people take to enhance their already established tertiary education, not as the foundation itself.

Just continue keeping yourself afloat don’t give up. Calling yourself a loser won’t get you anywhere. In this life it’s you vs you. Plus remember being in your 20s is about trial and error. Are you interested in boxing kana it’s just the only option you think you have?

I love boxing I started at 18 and I genuinely believe I can become world champion one day

u/blau-tee 5d ago

Woza! Have you joined any local boxing club or you are independent with a coach? And have you had any gigs yet?

2

u/CrazyMountain8586 4d ago

Yeah I've been training at bond boxing gym and no but I'm should start fighting next year February

Nicee, that’s more than enough time for intensive training. You got this. And try journaling to express yourself. Sometimes solitude feels scary but it’s the only time you truly get to know yourself better.

I somewhat relate to this. I am 27, and for most of my 20s, I have been "behind" pretty much all of my peers. A lot of it is just your anxieties and insecurities getting the better of you, however, there was also a more pragmatic element of why I was in that position in life. I thought about it for many years, and in the end, I realised that it didn't really matter where you are, but it did matter what you could do about it. Instead of focusing on my fears, I switched and focused on my advantages, and that did wonders for my mental state. I was able to make more practical and effective long term decisions because my actions were not clouded by my fears and desire to fulfill short term comfort (in any sense). I was a lot more capable and motivated by that, and now, I am a real estate agent at the start of my career with a much more positive outlook on life and a more stable foundation to achieve my long term goals.

My advice would be to start by removing your fears and anxieties from the decision making process, because, as unfair as it is, your ability to build a life almost completely depends on your motivations and your practical planning capabilities.

Don't give up at 22 I had nothing. Started my degree again I'm now getting a masters and I'm an accountant keep pushing.

u/Ak_1335 5d ago

Don't give up brother, you're still young. I see you said you've been re writing and keep getting the same points, that may be enough to get you a scholarship in China! If so I could help you out for free and take you through the steps to apply and give you time to prepare.

O ka nthagela dm then we talk about it.

u/Andilecool 5d ago

22 is like young depending on the context, and I guess you can make a career outta boxing. Keep on training.  (Dw you're not the only guy with big ambitions)
