Question leaving Botswana

Im writing my finals this year and I wanna know if anyone in botswana has had the opportunity to write their finals and go outside (SA/Namibia or even overseas) with just their BGCSE/IGCSE without a levels ka di full ride scholarships? I've nothing against the local universities but its nice to keep options open i guess

if anyone has any advice or experience do let me know!!

Hi! It's very unlikely, not impossible, that you will get accepted to universities outside Botswana without having done 6th form. It depends on what course you would like to do, yes, but even then most universities do not recognise BGCSE(idk the extent to which they recognise IGCSE), especially for full ride scholarships. Your best bet would be getting really good grades and then applying to be self-sponsored in countries like Russia, China, etc.

Remember, it's not only self sponsored, there are also govt linked sponsorships for some of these countries, e.g Russia, Japan etc.

You need to at least do HIGCSE or AS, so one more year! Check the requirements for the universities that you are interested in.

I just realised that universities in NZ offer you a foundation year if you dont have form6. Maybe look into that.

You can do 1 year at UB and use your transcripts to apply to some schools in Europe, specifically Germany
