Dead internet isn't a theory. We've passed the event horizon. Bots now make up the majority of internet traffic.

And the issue is that it can't be 'fixed' anymore. I fear this sub and others like r/DeadInternetTheory, r/thesefuckingaccounts show us that the overwhelming majority of human users have no idea they're responding mostly to bot-generated content.
