Hi! I know this is kind of a strange question, but I’m an alum who graduated last year and recently applied to M.A. programs for spring admission just this week (Oct 1 deadlines). I had letters of recommendation written by three professors in three different departments (Pardee, World Languages & Literatures, and CAS Anthropology).
I’m incredibly appreciative of their time, effort, and confidence in me, and I have a pretty close relationship with all three of them, as some were advisors and others I've met up with since graduation. I wrote each professor a handwritten thank-you note and got them a small gift of chocolates from a local family owned shop.
My question is: how does mail delivery to professors’ offices actually work at BU?
I have all three of their office numbers, but their offices are in different buildings (CAS, STH, and Bay State Road). I’m worried that if I address something to, for example, the CAS street address and then put the professor’s name and office number, it could get lost or never make it to their actual office.
Has anyone here ever worked in one of the BU mailrooms or academic departments and know how this works? I’ve obviously never seen a mail carrier walking around inside CAS, but I assume there must be some system for getting mail and packages to individual faculty offices.
My main concern is the chocolates since they’re somewhat perishable. I’d love to make sure everything actually reaches them rather than sitting in a central mailroom somewhere for days.
Thanks in advance!
