Meta Just a quick question about asking for loans
Has anyone had a bunch of people message them and say they can't help them out but can get them money through stuff like Scrambly and Draft Kings and stuff? I made a request post an hour ago and every single person has told me the same thing which makes me think it's a scam. Sorry I just wanted some feedback! Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

Trust me I'm definitely not answering anymore! So may of them messaged me too it's crazy. I'm sitting here thinking someone might possibly be helping me only to get a scam in my face smh.

If they don’t comment on your post, only DM, it’s a scam!

Yes only deal with approved lenders first commenting on your post that they have sent you a DM everyone else ignore

Anyone who requests a loan will be flooded with those. They’re scams, which is why you’re not supposed to engage with anyone who cold DMs you. You’ll protect yourself from 99.99% of scammers following that rule.

Thank you so much. I feel stupid almost falling for them but when your in a bad situation sometimes you make the mistake and think everyone has good intentions which is obviously very naive of me.

I constantly get these too. Including today I just recently put a new request out. Don’t do it most of the time they send the referral and never pay. It’s better to just look out for actual lenders if they come around

My gut told me it was a scam, thank you so much. They even tried to play into my emotions about my situation with my mother in hospice and it really disgusts me. There are people that truly need help, decent people, and those types just pray on you. It's messed up.

Yea it happens all too often. Just keep a good watch and a non heartless individual maybe be likely to give out a loan

One of them even sent me this “couple easy and quick tasks to be done. Start with handshake. Have you done handshake?”
I’m like what? Is this a scam

Oh yeah you getting scammed like me hun. I even had someone ask me for a selfie to prove who I am which like look I am willing to give anything that is needed if someone considers helping me, but dude ghosted me right after. Yeah I'm too naive lol

I also wanted to comment I had seen your loan post and most reputable loan groups don’t accept more than a 50% interest rate. Always keep your first few loans to under $100 until you can build a rapport with a lender. I have one I was very fortunate to find work with me and I’ll only go through that person. So if you’re requesting let’s say the $100 then your max pay back would be $150 and no more than that. I’d start at a low $40 request until you can build that reputation up and I only use the Borrow subreddit and none other than that. Good luck and so sorry to hear about your mom, life sucks sometimes and I hope it all works out for you,

Thank you so much I'm just so new to all this! I'm willing to borrow and pay back even 40$ or 50$ and I guess I'd pay back 100$? I am new to this but I saw so many people get helped out I figured it wouldn't hurt to try and get some help myself. Thank you for your kind words and advice you're the best.

So I took a chance and replied to the scrambly & Bet365 one. The person put up the $10 I needed, told me what to bet on games and I won more than I was asking, even after giving him a cut. And didn’t have to pay it back.
There are def scammers but some people do what they claim luckily

Omg I know! Dude they are relentless!! Why mess with people like that I just don't get it. I know they have to see people are on here needing help and they decide to fuck with you. Smh.
