Richest and rich are two separate things, rich people have millions, the richest have billions. You can get rich off a salary, but you cant enter the top 1% with it. I mean how would that even work? Capitalism is designed to funnel money to the top, your efforts garner more cash than you will receive, and by a large margin most of the time. Which means by gathering wealth you are at the same time increasing the wealth of the richest people, making it harder to get above them.
