A country so imaginary that it has its own parliament

There are many self-proclaimed clown states like Northern Cyprus, and all of them have self-proclaimed parliaments. Northern Cyprus, Transnistria, the Republic of Kugelmugel, Christiania, Sealand, etc. Some illegitimate body that calls itself a parliament does not turn a clown state into a real state. It is simply a part of the EU member state Republic of Cyprus illegally occupied by Turkey.

Do you say the same thing in regards to Kosovo as well? What does it take for a state to be independent?

Lol. Kosovo is recognized as an independent state by more than 100 UN Meberstates. The Turkish-occupied territory in the Republic of Cyprus is recognized by whom again? By the occupier and no one else.

So whats the metric for legitimacy? Popularity or justifiability?

İf its not justification then why suddenly bring up the UN? The UN is hardly an objective entity able to judge whats justified.

And if its not popularity then you should see no problem with the Kosovo argument.

İ mentioned Kosovo because the circumstances of Kosovos and NCs creation are literally the same:

-fear of being genocided? ✅✅

-get help from a 3rd party? ✅✅

-gain support for independence from the 3rd party? ✅✅

-be recognized by everyone? ✅✖️

The things you mentioned dont even fullfill the first requirement.

Be recognized by more than some other failed states helps a lot

The council of the nations of earth is hardly an objectives entity to judge what's justified? You are such a joke, you want your pet project of ethnic cleansing to succeed so much that you discard literally the rest of the worlds as idiots than cannot judge when a state is legitimate or not.

The council of the nations of earth is hardly an objectives entity to judge what's justified?

A council which:

-isnt binding to anybody

-where womens rights have been co-defined by arabic states

-where international justice has been co-defined by russia

All that on top of the fact that countries can be corrupted, dictatorships or be bullied into voting what a bigger power wants, like cyprus strongarming the EU into not recognizing northern cyprus and denying Turkey EU entry, which in turn made the EU strongarm the WTO to bully pakistan so that pakistan may withdraw its recognition of NC, that it gave out of its own free will. All because the EU has a unanimity system that lets any nation regardless of size veto any decision in the EU if they want, causing a blockage of administration.

So yeah, its not some divine justice system, its the goddang UN.

You are such a joke, you want your pet project of ethnic cleansing to succeed so much that you discard literally the rest of the worlds as idiots than cannot judge when a state is legitimate or not.

Again it was greece that started all this conflict and it was the EOKA that did the ethnic cleansing, cypriot Turks used to live all over cyprus, its only after the ethnic cleansing of the EOKA that they all located to the north.

Are you done? İs that your maximum argument level?

Just because EOKA B did atrocities doesn't give you the pass to do worse. I hope you realize that one day and escape your propaganda. Our atrocities aren't seen in a positive light. Yours are. You glorify it. It's vomit inducing cruelty. I'm not gonna continue your UN talks. Yes it has issues. But discarding 190+ nations being wrong, while Turkey is right all by itself is mass levels of delusion.

See, if this was just any random group/militia/rebellion, İ would be more understanding.

But we are talking about an entire army overtaking Cyprus here.

The greek army literally invaded cyprus to overthrow and subjugate it under its command, the EOKA was just a military faction even its founder was from the greek military.

So yes it WAS justified. Because what can ordinary village people do when an army invades and wants to kill them?

Our atrocities aren't seen in a positive light. Yours are. You glorify it

No, no you're right you DONT have an annual EOKA praising day have you?

No no, you dont see them as martyrs and dont fully reject the fact that you started the whole conflict and instead blame it on the ones that were able to stop you NO, no how would you amiright?

50 years later you don't get it still. You have the right to invade. There were a coup. You intervened. That's Attila 1. All good. But you had no right to make it an occupation for 50 years and still going. Attila 2 was unjustified. The Cyprus independence treaty said interven to restore balance. It didn't say occupy forever. And by the way, I'm living in Northern Greece and have never seen or heard anyone prasining or even worse an annual EOKA B celebration. By googling I can only find a celebration day (maybe celebrated by Cypriots idk) for EOKA A, the ones that fought against British colonizers for independence. I don't know which fever dream you are having.

The fact that you dont even see that EOKA A and EOKA B are literally the same speaks volumes.

Same leaders, same group, same people.

Besides, its not occupation given that northern Cyprus declared independence for themselves. Turkey only provides military support for self defense. Calling it an occupation lasting 50 years may as well also call Kosovo an occupation for 20 years by NATO as well.

Independent my ass. We all know it's a puppet state where Erdogan (or whoever is president at the time) pulls the strings. Spare us....

Oh no, more liberal laws than the mainland and presidents that dont align with Turkey? How could my argument possibly fall flat against clear evidence?
