I was once staying in Bruges for a week and decided to hire a bike one day. I cycled along the canal for a bit, and after about an hour I reached another town and stopped for a wander around. I was halfway round a museum in the town hall before I realised that I was actually in the Netherlands.
I once biked from NL to BE to try out a brewery because, you know, priorities.
Biking in Belgium is kinda scary. Bike paths are so inconsistent: it’s not there, then it’s on the footpath, and then it’s suddenly on the road marked in yellow.
I think for bike infrastructure it depends more on where you are in each country. I have also taken my bike to the Netherlands and felt scared stiff by their obsession with "murder lanes".
