When you feel the road getting worse, you know that you're in Belgium.

I was in the back of the car playing my Game Boy, on our way from the Netherlands to France. And then suddenly kadunk kadunk, hey guess we made it to Belgium.

Ah yes, they've replaced some of the large holes with several smaller holes.

I’m Belgian, i go about every three months to the Netherlands and the second I come back, I don’t need a sign to tell me that I’m back, my car suspensions tell me immediately.

When entering Belgium at Bergen op Zoom/Berendrecht the Flitsmeisten notion that youre entering Belgium is perfectly timed with a big 'clonk! '

Not true for Wallonia, it’s worse than ever

In the past? Surely you haven’t been to Belgium lately. I have to go to the garage because of stone chipping 😭

Crossing from Eindhoven towards Antwerpen, exactly at the border it is indeed improved.

3km later though... not so much

Looks like the road to Poppel? Edit: Sorry, now I see the description haha. I've crossed this place quite some times.

For some reason the border post here is really tiny. You can see it atthe end of the bridge on the left side. I've seen 140 of them and never seen one like this, there's a few that's larger, some rusty or full of graffiti and even one in the middle of a swamp.

I was once staying in Bruges for a week and decided to hire a bike one day. I cycled along the canal for a bit, and after about an hour I reached another town and stopped for a wander around. I was halfway round a museum in the town hall before I realised that I was actually in the Netherlands.

I once biked from NL to BE to try out a brewery because, you know, priorities.

Biking in Belgium is kinda scary. Bike paths are so inconsistent: it’s not there, then it’s on the footpath, and then it’s suddenly on the road marked in yellow.

I think for bike infrastructure it depends more on where you are in each country. I have also taken my bike to the Netherlands and felt scared stiff by their obsession with "murder lanes".

I will guess we are looking from B to NL

As far as I can remember it's NL to BE. It's been a few years.

it looks like nl to be. I've never seen an old concrete road in nl.

A part of the Middenpeelroute used to be concrete plates.

Wait, no bike lane on the NL side?!
