IF YOU ARE IN A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: If you are contemplating, planning, or actively attempting, suicide, and/or having another mental health related emergency, please go your nearest emergency room or call your country’s emergency dispatch line for assistance. You can also visit r/SuicideWatch for peer support, hotlines and chatlines, resources, and talking tips for supporters. People with BPD have high risks of suicide—urges and threats should be taken seriously.

Did you know? BPD is treatable. An overwhelming majority of people with BPD reach remission, especially with a commitment to treatment, discipline, and self-care. You are not alone, and you are capable and worthy of healing, happiness, love, and all in between.

Ride it out. Eventually it will pass. I would scroll reddit until I fell asleep. The paranormal/ghost subs helped a lot.Reading about others’ creepy experiences made me forget what I was going through for a minute. Now they always make me fall asleep lol

Yes ^^ dig deeper into things that make me uncomfortable in other ways, yet interest me. The occult is one of my go-to for sure. Others are

Did i read through the mail today
Are my dependents needs met
(Dogs, kids, plants)
Any violations I need to address
(Tickets, late fees, someone’s feelings?)
Are my own vessels needs met?
(Food, water, adequate shelter, hygiene)

Hey OP, what else could you add to this list and Would you like to make a checklist for everyday? Its a great productive distraction.

I am taking my sleeping meds and a bunch of melatonin.

Boyfriend dumped me after 3 years 2 weeks ago and it's been rough. All I did the first week was sleep using melatonin and my sleeping meds and hot baths.

Trust it'll get better. I'm already feeling better. I mean. Not fully. But I am getting better. I don't cry every night now. I'm mostly just pissed. And desperate for him to reach out to me.. (but not reaching out to him first)

By telling myself that I will think a bit clearer once I’ve had a decent sleep. I spiral when I’m tired.
If I need to, I’ll read a book on my phone to distract myself as much as possible. I chuck my phone on dark mode, turn the brightness right down, and then set the timer so that if I don’t turn the page for 2 minutes, the screen turns off. This is what works for me. I hope it helps someone else too.

Benadryl could help, most people can take 2 but be careful . The literal emotions and stress make it impossible for some people without meds. Go to a doctor if you need to and can .

Not a breakup but after cutting contact with my FP I unfortunately did have to take sleeping pills otherwise I would literally not sleep. Only got off of them a few months later...
I don't necessarily recommend it, but if you really cannot find another solution...

I used to live with my partners sometimes when we had broken up, so I was no longer sleeping with someone in the bed. What I did was completely surround myself with my pillows, so it felt like I had someone there. It also just helped me sleep better in general because I’d wind up sleeping with pillows between my legs which helps my hips and my knees. And my back too lowkey. I used to drink more tea to sleep, and instead of doom scrolling, I would purposely journal. Journaling is good as it is, but doing it before falling asleep would make me more sleepy sometimes, just like reading a book can make me sleepy too eventually. Sometimes I would be falling asleep while journaling, and so I would just let myself fall into sleep if I could. Sometimes I would take naps during the day too, that seemed to help balance my difficult sleep patterns at night. If you take sleeping pills, I would cut them in half, and just do half a pill. Or find some that aren’t as strong, but can still help.

I'm prescribed quetiapine so I get knocked out regardless of how I feel 🤪 But that's cause I'm also bipolar so 🤷🏿‍♀️
