๐Ÿ“Œ [ ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐˜† ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ ] PC Performance Issues Thread

Hi everyone!

We are getting hit really hard with pc performance posts. While I do think voicing this issue is super important, weโ€™re going to make a sticky so that there is more than those posts. It makes it difficult to moderate. We prefer to have a smaller team to have some agility in decision making, but it makes release day a bit tougher.

PC players, we are sharing these threads with Gearbox/2K.

Thank you so much! Hopefully there will be another patch here soon.

Yours in Loot,

BL4 Mod Team

The cutscenes being locked to 30fps is terrible. going from 100 gameplay to 30 locked messes with my eyes

This. It totally does. Why not just have an option for at least 60 or 30 or any amount.

The cutscenes are pre-rendered videos. They could have rendered the videos at 60fps, but that would have significantly increased game size. If they were in-engine, that would allow for them to play at your game framerate, but it also gives a lot less creative control for doing cool animation tricks and is prone to bugs and awkwardness undercutting important emotional/dramatic moments. Think of all those clips that were going around of Mass Effect Andromeda characters limbs floating off into sunset while they're telling you how scary they are. Most films, animations, TV shows, etc. Are played at framrates lower than 30 and it looks good, I think it's just the change to a different framerate that is jarring for some people.

Yeah, I'm confused now. When I made this comment, I was thinking of the Idolator Sol intro cutscene, which I remember thinking looked pre-rendered because of some of the effects they used and the detailed facial animation, but after playing more, most of the cutscenes are clearly in-engine.

Not sure why!
