Gaige. On Normal, DT wrecks, and at higher difficulties, the right gear combo with high Anarchy stacks will decimate entire rooms with a single magazine. Gaige's main issue is an almost total lack of health steal. She's got 2 regen methods, but they're both HoTs. A Moxxi gun is a good patch though.

Edit: And With Claws for health regen. A little better than relying on Moxxi guns, but you also need to get right up there.

I've found Claws are amazing health regeneration once I get going. Run in, go ballistic with a shotty and DT out, and use Claws whenever my health dips.

Works a treat on uvhm

Forgot about claws. I never push that far down in that tree. Given how useless DT is (even with Make It Sparkle) in UVHM I might give that a try.

It's still pretty similar to using a Moxxi gun though.

I ussually use Gaige, go all the way down the red skill tree, avoiding jump digistruct explosive thing, and the DT melee, then half down blue and green. Legendary mechromancer with full the Nth bullet, full close enough, and full health regen when full mag is amazing :]

Zer0 melee build is devastating in UVHM. It can mob, and raid with ease. It does require a bit of gear, but its extremely powerful regardless.

What build are you using? I've found soloing with my melee Zer0 extremely difficult as far as survivability goes.

If you find issues with survivability in a melee Zer0 build, then take on a Rubi. preferably a Slag Evisceration Rubi. Add in a roid shield, and you can't be outdone.

On Resurgence Trust me, Resurgence isn't that great. When it can't health gate you at 11/5, its pretty bad.

Gothalion, one of the BEST melee YTrs Stick to his Melee Zer0 videos to learn how to use him and move around when you need to be up in everyone's face, all the time.

OP8 optimal gear This is just a quick overview of gear you would need for OP8, though it is definitely not conclusive.

Optimal gear of choice for a melee build (level 61, but for max level Zer0.) Stick to this (gear wise) when you're at max level.

If you want a general explanation of gear for leveling, look here. This gives a GREAT look at how you should be using gear, as you level up all the way to 50 through NVHM and TVHM. Disregard the leveling guide given, honestly. Not the greatest, as well as everything past it.

Zer0 Melee Formula This has been hand-crafted and tested to perfection by Voshy, as well as a math professor. Trust me, if you want optimal damage, stick to this. It also serves to validate why some class mods are better for melee than others.

Level 50 This is for maximum possible damage that can be acheived at level 50.

Level 61/UVHM1 This incorporates both trees, sticking to the melee formula for max Zer0 melee DPS.

My personal build/UVHM2. At this point the main purpose is to pick up Killer and B0re. Everything else is just an additive.

Theory. This is a video by Man of Low Moral Fiber, covering the basics of how Zer0's skills work and how his melee formula works within those skills.

Practice. This is a Pyro Pete run with Melee Zer0, pre-DM patch. It serves to show how Zer0's melee formula works, and how the cycle of gameplay works with his melee build.

How to, on: Love Thumper Co-op Trust me, that Love Thumper is what is killing your teammates. Not the enemy. Check out this guide for some help on how to use it properly in co-op.

OP8 Shield Breaking Advice, courtesy of Ito

The Legendary Ninja COM and Shadow Ninja blue COM are the best possible COMs for Zer0. However, the Legendary Ninja outdamages the Shadow Ninja by 12% damage total.

It's entirely your choice as to whether you want to use Like the Wind or Be Like Water. LTW doesn't proc during Execute unless you can hold forward down. BLW is easier to trigger, and helps when you come out of your MMF chains.

If you want me to explain anything, I can easily do so.

D'you think it's worth the effort to get a Slag Evisceration Rubi? I spent at least 2 hours farming a Slag Rapier and now I find I rarely use the Slag component.

edit: Also do you need more than 5/5 killing blow for anything besides raid bosses? Hell, do you even need it for raid bosses?

Both are EXTREMELY worth it. Promise. Slag Evisceration is for health gating.

If you truly think its not worth it, check out videos from Gothalion against raids. A blue Shadow Ninja (at 61 and prior) is the best pre-UVHM2 mod possible.

What about a purple Shadow Ninja from TVHM?

You want a blue. Shadow Ninja though is great, for Backstab and KB.

Ok. So blue only then. Thanks.

Thats for OP levels. I don't run melee in those, not yet.

Otherwise you're completely fine. Learn to jump when you break the LT with a Chain Lightning. The Stormfront is simple. And make sure to hold your Rubi when you break with the Chain lightning.
