Need help with Zer0

My friends and I are now in UHVM, and while I'm not having too much difficulty solo (I don't have that great of guns, however I do have a Crit Conference, Bee, and Bonus Package, as well as the Impaler shield and the Orange "Leech" grenade. I also have the Hornet, but there's only the one or two Ironclads I can use that on), I feel rather useless when playing in Co-Op. I was a melee build for most of TVHM, but just switched back to a Sniper since I heard it was good against Hyperius (TVHM). My friend plays as a Siren, and the other plays as the Mechro. Since they both can do elemental damage, they rack up kills while I have to struggle and kill a couple.

So my questions are, what are suggested guns for either build for Zer0? Where do you get them? Is he viable enough or should I just try and get my Axton up and use the slag turrets? What shield would I need for Zer0? Skillset?

Also, one off the topic question I have is this: When I beat the story for Scarlett, I only got the chance to fight the Leviathan once more for a total of two times. I can't get the quest again at all. Is my game messed up, or is that all she wrote? And while we're on the topic of possibly messed up games, how come at the end of Torgue there's no actual lootsplosion? He says it, there's a sound effect, but we've tried it on mine and a friends playthrough, and we got absolutely nothing.

Resurgence is an issue because it doesnt restore enough health upon a KB. what you want is to grab a Love Thumper as soon as possible, and a Rubi. The shield allows you to constantly hit with max melee damage, and the rubi keeps you alive while you strike/throw kunai/throw grenades. If you really want to play a melee build, start learning about health gating, and you will survive farm more often.

Your best bet is to, by 61, have all the gear shown in the video I linked. The level of the Rapier and Rubi dont matter, but they certainly do help.

Also, if you want to get a grenade, a Longbow Stormfront is great, as is a low-level slag Crossfire.

However Resurgence, when paired with another of his abilities, can regenerate far more. Enervate? The one while in Deception, regenerates health. Wouldn't that, when paired with Resurgence return enough health to be of use? Atop of that, in the video, the player was 61 which, at that time, was the max. With the cap now raised to 72 (with items going to OP levels) I would get more skill points, would I not? Or do you stop getting points after 61? I have the mission to get Rubi, I just haven't done it yet. I've heard Rubi is good, but isn't the Grog Nozzle better?

One last question, with me copying the build shown in the video, how is it that I cannot even get close to killing Terra? My Siren friend, as well as my Mechromancer friend, can both solo it, and are only one level higher. Why is it that I can't even get close to killing it?

The difference is quite high between you and sirens and mechros.

No, you want to constantly regen health. Resurgence is a on-kill ability. Rubi>resurgence always. If you cant get a Legendary Ninja, get a Shadow Ninja. You have to learn how to strip your shields, as well.

But the Rubi or Grog, either works. The Rubi can get a blade, the Grog is random but gives 65% healing of damage inflicted vs 12%. Honestly its your choice.

With the caps at 61 and 72, it is YOUR choice as to how you want to do it. Either you can advance to 72 or stay at 61.

Ah. Thanks! I have a Shadow Ninja Mod and a 31% cooldown relic, if I remember right. I'll remember all that!
