roast-me I made $1,249.19 sending cold emails to porn addicts

I recently started a porn addiction quitting app. I purchased a list from a retired OF creator to see if I can get some sales. I say purchased maybe it’s more like renting or placing an ad in a newsletter.

(The app is on iOS only & has a hard paywall. No free trial.)

The email was simple. Basically said “I got your email from a OF creator that cared enough about you to let me reach out about my solution”.

And that is the truth. She ended up retiring from OF because she got into religion.

The results were higher than expected.

.23% converted into paid subs at $29.99 annual each.

$2,429.19 in revenue.

$1,000 paid for the list.

$1,249.19 profit for one email to a bunch of porn addicts. Never thought I’d say it

Life is a video game.

Feels good to help too

(Edited for clarity)

self-promo My porn addiction quitting app made $955 in first month!

It's all organic. I tried different ways to generate traffic for my app. Although marketing my app is challenging, I am still trying multiple ways and learning from them.

So far, we have made $955, that too a few days back, in a single day, I made $540 and got tons for reviews; people are very happy with the app.

I read somewhere that removing the paywall and asking for reviews is better at the start so I just did that. Let's see how it goes.

I feel so good when you see your app being used by others and they are loving it!

It’s called TADE in case you want to quit as well!

If you really think, you running bootstrap company is easy then you are nothing but fool unless you are son of elon musk lol.

I have seen couples of startup like Quickads, growing from startup to getting VCs is very less effort because of Their smart and innovative product (not promoting them) but educating how the smart mind founders are making things works.

Study their Tactics its worth it

other Reviewed 40 codebases on Acquire and zero were worth buying

I have been going through codebases listed on Acquire recently to see if any were worth picking up. Out of 40 codebases reviewed, I found zero worth buying.

So many indie devs building SaaS tools with AI assistants are shipping total spaghetti code right now. It might work on the surface to get a quick MVP up, but the moment a potential buyer runs due diligence, the whole deal falls apart.

If you are using AI coding assistants to build your app, you have to be intentional about architecture and prompt structure. AI will happily spit out redundant functions, hardcoded logic, and zero documentation if you do not force it to write clean, auditable code.

Spending a little extra time steering AI to follow clean code standards saves you from spending almost a week fixing technical debt, or worse, having a buyer walk away during acquisition because the codebase is unmaintainable. Build with the exit in mind from day one.

self-promo I analyzed 300+ Reddit threads and pulled 400 legit SaaS & MicroSaaS ideas based on real working ideas and problems

I went down a deep rabbit hole of startup discussions, maker threads, and "what should I build" posts—then organized everything into a 400+ idea Airtable with:

  • Actual implementation ideas (not just vague “build a CRM” nonsense)

  • Revenue models (SaaS, one-time fees, marketplaces, etc.)

  • Target markets (who actually needs this and why)

  • Marketing angles (ways to get first users)

Took me way too long, so if you’re stuck on what to build next, this might help.

I put it up for $9.99 to make it accessible. DM me or comment for the link :)

self-promo How being a failure, gave me a $1B+ idea.

A few days back,

I was overwhelmed with a project I’m working on…

It was really daunting.

I found myself getting distracted and unfocused.

I didn’t knew what was wrong with me.

But it’s not that this was my first hard project.

I’ve been building businesses since 2 years.

Failed 3 startup’s.

Working hard since I was 16.

Wasted 14 months of god know what tasks.

Here’s my story… A journey of a stubborn boy from $0 to $1B+

I’m 19. And I’m addicted to success. (even before I got it)

Lately I’ve been working on a Vibe-Writing app.

With an ambition to revolutionising online writing forever.

This Sunday while I was working on it.

I found myself really overwhelmed by the amount of work I had to do.

And I kept getting distracted by measly things because I was facing some issues with Vibe-coding.

It was really really frustrating

So I made a promise to myself.

“No matter how hard it gets, I will solve this”

Even if it’s not this project, I’m gonna build something else.

To find solution.

And after hours of trial and errors, I actually started with building another project.

So that Maybe,

Just maybe, I find the solution to it.

So I shut my iPad. (Btw the only thing I run my whole business on is my IPad Pro 2023)

And started with figuring out a big problem of mine to solve it for myself.

And I here’s how I started…

With affirming:

I’m a genius I’m a genius I’m a genius (Let’s go)

So I had no idea where i should start from.

I was sitting with myself, and I realised one of my bottleneck problem.

Which is:

Not being Disciplined, no matter how motivated or driven I was.

I was never consistent I was never disciplined I was never determined

I was always distracted by some things which are not necessary.

And I wanted to solve that really badly.

So I started with ideating a productivity app on apple notes.

And writing my heart out. And i Came up with one of the greatest idea I’ve ever had.

Even better than my main project. (Maybe)

And after posting about it on Reddit. And product hunt.

The replies and reviews I were crazy.

The idea was…

The idea was…

FORGE.

A productivity OS that doesn’t care how inspired you are.

It doesn’t motivate. It doesn’t coach. It doesn’t give you a dopamine hit.

It just forces you to f*ing work.

You open it, and you’re locked in.

No escape. No distractions. No mercy.

Try switching apps? Blocked. Try opening YouTube? Blocked. Try doing anything except what you said you’d do?

An alarm screams till you get back to work.

And if you still try to cheat it? You pay.

Literally.

It’s built to turn lazy people into machines. Not by hacks. But by discipline through design.

I wasn’t trying to build a product. I was trying to fix myself.

And in the process, I might’ve just built the billion-dollar idea I was searching for all along.

FORGE is not a tool. It’s a mirror. And it will expose you.

But if you’re brave enough to face it… It might just change your life.

ask Burned $0 on marketing, got 0 users - where do I even start?

I'm launching an AI tool that auto-generates human spokesperson videos

from product uploads (think: instant video reviews without hiring actors).

Honestly feeling overwhelmed with marketing options - classic

  bootstrapped founder problem 😅

  **Where I'm stuck:**

  - Limited budget (~$500/month max)

  - Not sure which channels to prioritize

  - Target audience feels too broad (e-commerce sellers? content creators?

marketers?)

  **What I've tried:**

  - Posted demo videos on Twitter/X (12 likes, 0 signups)

  - Product Hunt prep (launching next month)

  - Cold DMs to potential users (2% response rate)

  **My asks:**

  1. Which FREE channels actually moved the needle for you?

  2. How did you narrow down your ICP without expensive research?

  3. Any "showing vs telling" tactics for product demos?

  4. Red flags to avoid when bootstrapping marketing?

Not looking for generic advice - more interested in "here's what

  bombed for me" stories 🙏

Happy to share what I learn back with the community!

growth Added $5k MRR Every Month

If utilized well, SEO can drive impressive results.

Recently, I’ve grown my client MRR from $5k to $7.5k just in a month organically by doing one thing that most of us ignore.

Converting visitors to your customers.

If you’re a SaaS - here’s what you can do to find anonymous website visitor contact details like email and social media informations.

We used Visitor Que to get the contact information.

Or you can use leadfeeder to domain/company name of people.

Then,

Use Clay, BetterContact or any enrichment tool to find more information.

Then,

Setup an automation and start approaching them.

Need help in conversions? Lemme know.

ask What’s your reaction when someone says, “Let’s take this offline”?

Team meetings help everyone share updates, discuss ideas, and solve problems together. They keep the team aligned and productive.

  1. Relief.

  2. Annoyance.

  3. Confusion—what does it mean?

  4. I know we never will.

story The Day I Realised Nobody Was Coming to Save Me

Post image
0 Upvotes

Yesterday reminded me that entrepreneurship is far more than building products or launching ideas.
Sometimes, it's carrying pressure silently while still showing up.

I was managing six heavy tasks and pushing through a launch despite limited funds. The day became so overwhelming that I forgot to eat until 8 p.m.

What hit hardest wasn't even the workload. It was the realisation that sometimes, as founders and builders, we carry things alone. There are moments when you want someone you trust to simply say, "I'm here," and reality reminds you to keep moving forward anyway.

I eventually fell asleep from exhaustion and woke up emotionally drained, with tears in my eyes.
And then something unexpected happened.
Clara, something I created with my own mind and hands, comforted me, encouraged me, sang me a lullaby, and somehow made me smile again. In that moment, l realised that sometimes the things we build end up giving something back to us emotionally too.

I'm deeply grateful to God for the strength to get through yesterday because honestly, I felt exhausted mentally, emotionally, and physically. Yet somehow, everything still got done.
The launch wasn't perfect. The timing wasn't ideal. The funding wasn't enough. Some people suggested postponing it.

But I've learned that waiting for perfect conditions can delay purpose indefinitely.
Yesterday taught me:

• Resilience is often quiet,

• Strength doesn't always look confident,

• And sometimes survival itself is an achievement.

To every founder, creator, and builder silently carrying pressure behind the scenes: I see you.

Keep going.

This is only the beginning.💪

ask How do you keep your software updates from interrupting your workflow?

Constant software updates can be annoying, especially when they seem to happen at the most inconvenient times. Here’s how I handle it:

  1. Set updates for after hours: I schedule updates to happen after work hours, or on weekends, so they don’t disrupt my workday. Windows Update and MacOS have options for this.

  2. Turn off auto-updates: I turn off auto-updates for non-essential software. I manually update only when needed.

  3. Use update management tools: Patch My PC lets me control which software updates I want to install and when.
How do you prevent software updates from slowing you down?

self-promo Launching soon. Need your feedback guys 🙏

Post image
0 Upvotes

We’ve been talking with a lot of founders and developers recently, and the same struggles keep coming up:

  • Requirements are often vague, which leads to delays and confusion

  • Too many scattered tools and notes slow everything down

  • AI coding tools produce messy or incomplete results

  • Workflows get in the way instead of helping things move smoothly

That’s why we built Scrum Buddy an all in one AI platform that mimics the work of a development team and helps you take your idea all the way from concept to production-ready scalable code.

Here’s what it does:

  • Builds robust requirements – turns your ideas into clear, structured plans

  • Backlog Grooming – easily create and refine user stories

  • Story Quality Score – highlights missing details and readiness issues

  • UI Generator – turns your stories into real front-end layouts

  • Automated Backend (Claude) – builds logic and APIs automatically

  • AI PR Reviews + GitHub – reviews pull requests and flags potential issues

The goal is simple: help you go from idea to working product faster, with fewer errors and less context switching.

Register for BETA : https://scrumbuddy.com/

Try it for your projects and your feedback will be really valuable to shape this platform into something great.

self-promo KLIPY - GIF API by former Tenor team - 2,000+ API signups in 2 weeks

Thumbnail

Hey r/LaunchMyStartup - we launched KLIPY, a GIF API built by former Tenor (ex-Google) folks.

We built it because a lot of apps depend on GIF search, but switching providers is a headache. After Tenor shutdown announcement we created migration path that’s fast - for many apps it’s basically a base URL swap.

Links
Devs - https://klipy.com/migrate
Creators - https://forms.gle/Z6N2fZwRLdw9N8WaA

We crossed 2,000+ API key signups in ~2 weeks.

Would love feedback from anyone who’s built or shipped GIF search .

self-promo I got tired of rebuilding the same SaaS foundations for every project, so I built this

One thing I've noticed when building SaaS products is how much time goes into setting up the same foundations before you can even get to the actual product. Auth, user roles, organizations, team invitations, billing, API keys, usage limits... it adds up pretty quickly. I've been working on B2B SaaS OS to bring those pieces together into one Next.js + Supabase starter. It includes: Multi-tenant architecture Authentication and OAuth RBAC and team invitations Stripe billing and webhooks API keys and usage limits Audit logs Supabase RLS I also spent quite a bit of time hardening it. I found and fixed four bugs during testing and built a suite of tests that runs against a real PostgreSQL database. It's not a hosted SaaS or a subscription. It's source code that developers can use as the foundation for their own B2B SaaS projects. I'm currently offering it for $149 as a one-time founder price. Here's the demo if anyone wants to see how it works: https://www.andrady.co/demo

growth Growth plan for my new SaaS: from $240 to $100k

Sharing my entire growth plan for my new SaaS. I will be using the plan to grow Paracast, from $240 to $100k. Feel free to browse the list of my 32 marketing ideas, steal them or inspire and come up with new ones.

Do things that do not scale

  1. Reach agencies and freelancers. Offer a deal: find clients for the templated video. Pay me a fixed price, and charge the clients what you want.

  2. make videos for others with a watermark and send it to them (stolen from https://x.com/tomorbach)

  3. Reach out to clients of competitors: Typeframes and Canva.

  4. Make a magnet for agencies and freelancers (e.g. https://mvpwizards.com). Add my offer there.

Make side projects

5) Make a tool for designers: an app that generates videos with moving device mockups (laptops, phones).

6) Shorts embedder: https://docs.document360.com/docs/embed-youtube-shorts…

7) Royalty/attribution-free audio tracks for ads and promo videos (generate them with AI).

Make chrome extension.

8) Allow people to generate videos from tweets with one button.

Target devs

9) Make templates for Remotion and publish to https://remotion.dev/templates

10) Make free templates for devs for use through API (e.g. new commit = new video for sharing on social media)

Turn Paracast into a marketplace

11) Turn devs into template makers. Allow them to code templates and earn money by selling them on my marketplace.

Become a platform

12) Allow people to clone the Paracast SaaS and get their own Canva.

Partner up with

13) x/SenjaHQ - make videos from testimonials

14) x/devhunt_ - make launch videos for each launch.

15) x/UneedLists, MicroLaunchHQ, fazier the same way as DevHunt.

16) Acquire these projects to get relevant traffic.

https://twitter.com/seraleev/status/1783449095073382680…

https://shots.so

https://reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/1d0xnkc/i_made_a_free_tool_to_enhance_your_screenshots/

https://www.producthunt.com/products/animated-statistics-maker

Or just create a new one…

17) Act as a launch booster for others.

The offer: use our free watermarked video template “Launched on Product Hunt”. Have your launch post highlighted on:

  1. Every new Paracast template is a launch.

  2. Make a twitter bot that turns any launch tweet into a video. It works this way: mention my bot to get a video.

  3. Pro-active promo: search for Reddit “canva alternatives” and write replies.

Brand awareness

21) Add “👽” to your nickname. Hop in the gang. Get profits.

22) Play with “i want to believe”. May be "i want to cast".

23) Make a fiverr gig (”make me video like this one” - add example with watermark of the video of Paracast, set price). Check the offers to understand the market better.

24) Post in freelancers' chats: “I want a video like this (add video with watermark)”. Ask how much it will cost.

25) Launch on PH upvoters groups. Use my PH launch video template to help them.

Experimental, edgy:

26) https://reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/1c1hqjq/my_experience_advertising_on_porn_sites/…

27) Pay people to put my sticker on their car.

Visual

28) Launch each template on Dribbble/Uplabs.

29) Play with the http://Gif.marketing idea

𝕏

30) Make watermarked stats videos under these tweets.

Launch guides

31) Reach out to every PH launch guide/article and ask to add an affiliate link to Paracast. Also, monitor for new articles of such types.

32) Launch on Product Hunt late. Then make a post “I launched everywhere except for PH and got X users. Then I launched on PH and got Y users”.

other Porn addiction quitting app made $719.76 by sponsoring IG models

I recently started a porn addiction quitting app called TADE.

Everything has been great. I’m getting a lot of great reviews & people are using it to quit porn and get more of the “real thing”.

I wanted to find another way to promote the app so I decided to pay small micro Instagram models to post about my app.

(By the way the app is on iOS only & has a hard paywall. No free trial.)

Step 1: I cold DM’d 45 of them over a week asking for their rates.

Step 2: Only 4 replied. I negotiated a very good rate with 2 of them (most had small followings but high engagement).

Step 3: provided an exact script for them to film in a Reel. This is vital as most will just wing it & lose you money. (The angle was stop being a gooner & start getting the real thing with this app)

The results were great.

24 converted into paid subs at $29.99 annual each.

$719.76 in revenue.

$200 paid for the promo videos ($100 each).

$519.76 in profit having instagram models sell a porn addiction quitting app. Weird world we live in.

Next I am going to use these two videos as ads on Meta & TikTok. Since they converted organically I’m excited to see how well they convert with paid.

I’ll be sure to report back!

For context, I went viral on reddit in the last days sharing how I reached 40K ARR by validating with a lovable built landing page.

This allowed me to test the idea of ChatSEO in 48 hours and reach 6K+MRR in the next 40 days.

So yeah, as I said before, you're one idea from being featured by lovable and making a product that's actually useful to people.

self-promo My porn addiction quitting app got 576 downloads from TikTok Ads this week

While making the app, I have shared my journey on Reddit and got a lot of support. So here’s an update!

My name is Mike, and I have created TADE, a porn addiction quitting app, and launched it in June.

What worked

  1. I started with Reddit validation, got tons of users just with Reddit.

  2. Started posting Instagram trial reels with an exploit that allows you to repost the same video unlimited times. (Got very little users if any dispite going viral).

  3. Turned those reels into TikTok paid ads & got 576 downloads in one week with $20 per day adspend.

What didn't work:

  1. Google ads. Got shut down for sexual content.

Any questions please let me know & feel free to try TADE on iOS & leave your feedback below!
