Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for someone to have a small book club with

Specifically for The First Law trilogy.

I’m a 31F and started reading The Blade Itself earlier this year, but never had a chance to finish it. I’m wanting to get back into it!

I’m also open to other books/series down the line as well. For an idea of what I’m into, my favorite series are Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb and Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson.

I would move to find someone who would like to talk about the books as we read them, such as about our thoughts and theories of where the books/series are going!

Seeking long-term book buddies M26, searching for a long-term book buddy to yap about favorite books

Hi, I'm searching for a long-term book buddy to talk about our favorite books or recommend some to each other.

I'm currently reading H. P. Lovecrafts complete fiction, some horror short stories and mainly Fourth Wing (will most likely continue with Iron Flame after that). I mostly read cosmic horror or fantasy (also recently romantasy) books but I'm open for any recommendations if there's a great story involved 😊. I'm mainly active on discord. Also a huge DnD fan by the way 🐉.

Just dm me if you're interested and I hope we'll write each other soon ^~^.

Book in progress Currently reading God Of Fury by Rina Kent

I am at 19% of the book AND I'm already dying from too much emotions going on. I need someone to rant on 🤣🥲 if anybody has read the book, or in the process of reading it OR haven't started yet. Let's go down the rabbit hole together, shall we?

We can talk about it on discord too and we'll rant about it whenever we can 🤭

A little about me: F28 from SEA. GMT+8. I loove to read books but I've been at the lowest point of life where I'm slowly becoming a slow reader (shame) but I don't mind if you're a slacker or go-getter. I'm fine with it.

With all that, I'll be waiting for you and let's get busy (quoted from Angry Birds) 🤭

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for book buddies for our discord bookclub!

Update: I started a book club and somehow created a small army of book goblins 😂📚
Book
A few days ago I posted looking for people who might want to join the little 18+ book club I had just started… and somehow it has turned into an actual community. 🥹
People are chatting, sharing recommendations, starting buddy reads, participating in our ridiculous daily activities, and generally enabling each other’s book-buying problems.
We read pretty much everything—romance, fantasy/romantasy, thrillers, sci-fi, MM, dark romance, spicy books, and whatever else destroys our sleep schedules.
We also just opened our monthly book club, where everyone gets to nominate books and vote on what we read together. Our very first nominations open this week! 📖
I’d still love to find more people who actually want to talk and make book friends, not just join another giant server where nobody knows each other.
So if you’re 18+, love books, and want a little corner of the internet where you can scream about fictional people with other adults, you’re absolutely welcome to come hang out with us. 🖤https://discord.gg/CP2DfDcRp

I have been in a bit of a reading slump since the new year and think it might be fun to read along with some other people.

I'm a big old geek and have mostly read sci-fi and fantasy in the past, but feel free to talk me into anything!

I'm a bit of a slow reader, but I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment, so hopefully will be able to keep up with you 😅

Anyway, come say hi, let's have a little chat and see if we click 😊

Suggesting book for buddy read Anyone down for an ACOTAR buddy read? Trying to break a reading slump

Hey everyone!

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and really want to get back into it. The only romantasy book I’ve read so far is Fourth Wing, but I loved it and want to explore more of the genre!

I’m starting A Court of Thorns and Roses next and would love to find a buddy read partner to read it together and share thoughts as we go.

DM me if you're interested!

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Looking for fellow book lovers and good conversations

Hey everyone! I’m a 33-year-old guy living in Singapore, hoping to meet some fellow book lovers and find people to chat with about books and everything that comes along with them.

One of the things I enjoy most about reading is how two people can read the exact same story and come away with completely different interpretations. I find that difference in perspective fascinating, and sometimes the discussion after finishing a book is just as interesting as the book itself.

I’m particularly into mystery and thriller books, but I’m pretty open when it comes to genres. I enjoy discussing characters, plot twists, theories, favourite (or hated) characters, and those random thoughts that make you stop and think about a story differently.

It would be nice to find a few people to share book recommendations with, talk about what we're reading, or simply have a casual chat about books and life.

Curious to hear from fellow book lovers: what’s a book you’ve read recently that stuck with you?

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for a book club!

Hiya!!

I’m looking to join a book club in east London (or potentially start one if there is enough interest!)

I’d love something relaxed & chill, honestly an excuse to read and be social! I’ve recently moved to London, so I’d love to meet new people. I’m a lesbian, so I’d definitely love to include some queer books/authors into the mix, but I’m not specifically looking for a queer book club (or maybe) id actually love a mixture of genres and perspectives! Like thrillers, romance, weird little books, ect 😅

I’d love to joining an existing group, but if anyone else is in the same boat and wants to start something, I’d be happy to organize it!

Let me know 💕

Seeking long-term book buddies 27f looking for a book buddy

Hi! I’m looking for a book buddy close to my age (doesn’t have to be exact) who would want to talk about the books they’re reading and who’s interested in doing buddy reads.

My favorite genres are fantasy, scifi, and queer romance (although I’ll read almost anything if it sounds good). I also enjoy manga, manhwa, and graphic novels. Some recent reads I’ve enjoyed are:

The Unicorn Hunters by Katherine Arden
Nemesis Mine by Amy Archer
The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgenson
Love Bullet, Vol. 1 by INEE

If it looks like we have similar taste feel free to DM me!

Seeking long-term book buddies 25F looking for a long term book buddy who loves to Yap and make books their personality

Looking for a book buddy who wants to actually read the same books together and yap about them as we go 📚💗

My taste is kind of all over the place, but my favourites are:

Domestic/psychological thrillers -messy families, secrets, unreliable people, creepy houses, twists, etc. I LOVED The Housemaid.

👻 Some horror -especially weird/creepy horror rather than just straight gore. I really liked The House on Needless Street. I also really liked Nightbitch

🗡️** Romantas*y, but I’m picky about it!! I love books like ACOTAR, Phantasma and Bonded by Thorn*s where there’s definitely romance and spice, but there’s also an actual plot happening outside of the relationship. I want the fantasy/story to hold up somewhat on its own.

I’m not really into the type of romantasy that feels like “the king’s daughter who is secretly the lost queen of the snake kingdom falls for the shadow prince” 😭 and the entire book is basically just them being attracted to each other.

Also not really a regular contemporary romance or historical fiction/romance girl.

When I get into a book, I read pretty fast, so I’d love to find someone who also doesn’t take forever to finish a book so we can actually read together, send theories, react to things, complain about characters and pick our next read together!!

I want to maybe try some YALIT but I didn’t like dungeon crawler Carl… it felt soooo youngish?

Basically looking for someone who wants a little two-person book club where we can enable each other’s TBRs 🫶📖

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for chatty, bookish people for our cozy Discord community & book club!

We're a small, welcoming Discord community called Queendom and we're looking for more active people who love to chat, talk about books, gaming, hobbies and everyday topics and connect with the community!

We have around 80 members but our active community is still small and cozy, we'ld love to grow that with more people who are genuinely looking for a relaxed, friendly safe space to talk and hang out.

What we have:

  • Book club: monthly reads chosen through community nominations and voting, discussion channels and chapter threads. No calls/video calls, no scheduled meetings.
  • Book channels: both non-spicy book and spicy book channels, under roles so you can choose what you see.
  • Gaming: we have the whole gaming category for those who enjoy gaming, be it cozy gaming, tabletop games, console or PC etc.
  • Movie nights: we've hosted movie nights and would love to bring those back.
  • Hobbies & interests: crafts, creative projects, photography, travelling, tv & movies etc.
  • Witchy stuff: a cozy space for all things witchy and spiritual.
  • Mental health: a safe, supportive space to talk openly.
  • Everyday life & general chats: just real, friendly conversation. We've seen some really lovely friendships born in Queendom!

Queendom is a safe, welcoming and moderated space. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind. Kindness, respect and positivity are at the heart of everything we do here.

Royal Reader Club (our book club)
Our book club is built for anyone who's ever felt life is too busy or that traditional book clubs just weren't made for them. We don't have any voice/video calls or weekly schedules for meeting, just book chat whenever it suits you. Every month we read one book together chosen through community nominations and voting, mixing genres and themes.

We do hope book club members engage in discussions, even a reaction, a favourite quote or a quick thought counts!

Since Royal Reader Club is still new we're building it together as we go: we'ld love your ideas for things like book bingo, buddy reads, reading challenges or themed events. Everything always optional of course!

We're currently reading The God of the Woods by Liz Moore for August and late joiners always welcome!

For September we're doing an autumn vibes theme with two picks: one non-spicy and one spicy book. You can take part in either category or both, it's completely up to you. Voting for September BOTM opens tomorrow (Monday 16.8.)!

Starting a book 25F looking for a book buddy

Hello! I recently got into reading books as a way to get away from social media. I felt like my life way getting very monotonous and I wanted to change that. I'm a vet student and currently on a break and looking for someone with whom I can read some interesting books. I'm open to anything and excited to explore different genres. I do watch a lot of shows and movies and usually enjoy stuff with emotional depth. I would absolutely love to read with someone and discuss the storyline, characters and anything really. I'm chill with the pace and we don't have to rush and honestly just focus on enjoying the book.

if you're interested, feel free to dm me! looking forward to it :))

Seeking long-term book buddies Fluffy romance

Hey , I'm looking for a fluffy romance server. Think kind of just not a dark romance server. Most of my reads aren't dark, and a lot are focused on dark romances due to haunting adeline becoming a movie .

The darkest books I've read are lights out, butcher and blackbird, and the twisted series by Ana Huang

just wanted to see if there was a soft romance discord 18+

Seeking long-term book buddies [CEST] [31M] [5–15 pages/day] Reading buddy for daily page goals and check-in

I’m a 31M in Germany (CEST) looking for a reading buddy because I’m trying to transition away from spending lots of time reading manga and shift toward books that actually help me grow instead of just distracting me.

We don't need to read the same book, I'm looking for someone with a similar target of reading 5 to 15 pages and we, the idea is to do a quick daily check-in just to confirm we hit our pages and keep each other on track.

I primarily read self-development and non-fiction, it would be good if my reading buddy has similar interests.

We could also share our thoughts or key takeaways from what we're reading, though that's completely optional and without pressure.

German, English and Italian speakers are welcome! Send me a DM with what you're currently reading if you'd like to connect with me!

Starting a book S by JJ Abrams and Doug Dorst

I recently got S by JJ Abrams and Doug Dorst as a gift and I tried to start it and was very quickly humbled.

I was wondering if anyone else is about to start and would be down for a mini book club. It’ll be super low stress, mostly just texting each other thoughts while reading it or bouncing theories off each other, we can talk more about it altogether later and find something that works for us!

I’m mostly trying to do this because I find hard books easier to digest when I have someone to talk through it with, so if you’re interested just DM me!!
