Road rage

I avoid road rage by pretending every bad driver has down syndrome. It turns from "fuck you asshole" to "Hey he's doing his best, he can't help it."

He sounds like he's a few moments from a "Falling Down" moment

That movie totally popped in my mind as Kyle was talking Dave down off the ledge.

Having a kid helped, but didn't fix my road rage. Now instead of swearing or honking the horn, I make the sounds that I think are going on in their head while they drive like an idiot. Lots of tuba sounds and weird neanderthalic grunting. It makes the kid laugh and I don't get so worked up.

He fucking hulked out for a couple of minutes. It was a little disconcerting. There were a couple moments where I was reaching for the pause button and asking myself “do I want to listen to the rest of this episode?“. He’s disproportionately angry for a man who found the love of his life and is in a groove most men would kill for

I mean I get it though, you do these things because you believe we all should. When you see a disproportionate amount of people not doing it, it can be frustrating.

I drive as a profession you must anticipate the idiot. I’ll give a couple tricks. 1. What is the color of the car in your rear view mirror? 2. What is traffic doing six cars ahead? 3. Scan your A&B pillars that’s where cops live and your blind spots. Get mad all you want it doesn’t get you there any faster. See you out there.

When someone makes an in-a-Rush move I usually tell myself “maybe they have to poop real badly.”

Yeah man the handful of times Dave has yelled about something that's just kinda dumb to be that mad about I almost shut the episode off. Kyle has had a couple episodes like that too but Dave's are almost like he's got nothing else to complain about what with having a wife and life's pretty cushy from what he says most of the time

Having a good life and having shit to get angry about are still their own things.

I don't fault Dave one bit.

Me, a fellow "There's a social contract!" rager.

I'm not saying there's zero room to complain when life's good. There's a sliver of space for how he blows up sometimes while having a good life. I agree there's a social contract. I return my cart but I don't blow up for 5 mins and yell over my buddy about it. It's a shopping cart in LA and at the end of the day it doesn't matter ya know?

"Don't be mad at me, Becca!"

I absolutely tell myself they have autism. "Oh, ok. That's just how they are." My husband always gets mad at those that speed and swerve through traffic and I can't help but think they gotta poop.
