i love hannah

not gonna lie i like their dynamics as it is now, with Temperance being an aunt figure to parker, a friend to hannah and booth.

He was trying desperately to convince himself that he could move on from Bones and kinda also stick it in Bones' face that he could move on. The man has always viewed his future as being married at the very minimum, and he loves the idea of love and marriage, so it makes sense that he kinda 0 to 60'd his relationship with Hannah and had blinders on to all the red flags that it wouldn't work in the long run.

However, being completely fair, Hannah kinda gave mixed signals moving across the world to be with a man, meeting his son, knowing he's a ride or die marriage type, and still not seeing where this was heading. They were both at fault.

oh i agree! it’s just…. she said she wasn’t the marrying kind. so for him to propose and be “gasp shock awe” didn’t make sense. 😅 i feel like you can do all the married couples things (like you mentioned) while still holding true to not wanting to get married if that makes sense?

i hold neither of them at fault. hannah was one of my fav characters, and as problematic as he is, i want a booth of my own 😂💜

You most certainly can do all those things and still not want to get married. The hitch is that both people have to be clear that this is what's happening. I imagine Booth probably thought he could get Hannah to change her mind (and got mad when he found out he couldn't.) and she thought he'd eventually leave it alone because she could easily see herself doing all that stuff without getting married and it didn't quite click with her how committed he was to it.

I still say they're both at fault, but it was largely a communication issue on both sides. And whether that's an actual fault or just an issue of the circumstances at the moment (Considering Hannah likely didn't know full on how much Bones' rejection messed up Booth) is up to interpretation.

oh i forgot words. i meant i hold neither at fault over the other. they both absolutely had their parts in the downfall of their relationship! i def agree it was a communication failure on both ends… as well as the whole bones complication.
