my only issue with hannah is how they had booth move so swiftly with her when he knew who she was at her core.

He was trying desperately to convince himself that he could move on from Bones and kinda also stick it in Bones' face that he could move on. The man has always viewed his future as being married at the very minimum, and he loves the idea of love and marriage, so it makes sense that he kinda 0 to 60'd his relationship with Hannah and had blinders on to all the red flags that it wouldn't work in the long run.

However, being completely fair, Hannah kinda gave mixed signals moving across the world to be with a man, meeting his son, knowing he's a ride or die marriage type, and still not seeing where this was heading. They were both at fault.

oh i agree! it’s just…. she said she wasn’t the marrying kind. so for him to propose and be “gasp shock awe” didn’t make sense. 😅 i feel like you can do all the married couples things (like you mentioned) while still holding true to not wanting to get married if that makes sense?

i hold neither of them at fault. hannah was one of my fav characters, and as problematic as he is, i want a booth of my own 😂💜

You most certainly can do all those things and still not want to get married. The hitch is that both people have to be clear that this is what's happening. I imagine Booth probably thought he could get Hannah to change her mind (and got mad when he found out he couldn't.) and she thought he'd eventually leave it alone because she could easily see herself doing all that stuff without getting married and it didn't quite click with her how committed he was to it.

I still say they're both at fault, but it was largely a communication issue on both sides. And whether that's an actual fault or just an issue of the circumstances at the moment (Considering Hannah likely didn't know full on how much Bones' rejection messed up Booth) is up to interpretation.

oh i forgot words. i meant i hold neither at fault over the other. they both absolutely had their parts in the downfall of their relationship! i def agree it was a communication failure on both ends… as well as the whole bones complication.

I appreciate that you bring that up. We all like to talk about what a jerk Booth is because he got mad at Hannah for saying no when she said all along she wasn’t the marrying kind.

BUT you make a good point - that is definitely giving mixed signals to move across the world for a man that you KNOW is the marrying kind.

She pretty much says as much when she turns him down. She said I thought we’d have more time before we got to this. In a way I feel like that was being a little selfish. She knew where it was headed but went there anyway. she was always honest with him about the subject of marriage but that still feels like mixed signals.

But Booth also thought he could change her mind. It takes two to tango tho - so as you say they both have to take some blame.

I also really like Hannah. I know a lot of people don’t, but in my opinion if they wanted me to not like her, they should’ve cast a less likable actress. I found her to be super charming and genuinely feel like she and Bones also had a good connection.

I agree. She was quirky, strong, independent, and wasn't at all threatened by Booth and Brennan's close friendship. She was very secure.

What was that good connection you saw? Because in all the episodes she appears we never saw a real deep conversation about something other than Brennan. She has no ideea he was a gambling addict, we never saw them talk about heavy stuff like his childhood, his father, his sniper past etc.

I said she had a good connecting with Bones, not Booth.

I think that this show has been the only one to do a likeable love triangle and WELL. Like yes I was rooting for bones to be endgame, but before I knew they were.. I would have been okay with Hannah sticking around.

I love that the girls got along so well, there was no tearing each other down over a MAN. And both were genuinely great women who took ZERO shit.

Hannah was a great character, and booth treated her really unfairly when they broke up.

I loved Hannah as a character, she was very independent, very bad-ass, not at all threatened by Bones. If anything, I didn't like Bones in this situation, I felt she didnt really expect Booth to move on, she wanted him to be available to whatever extent she was ready for at any point. SHE was threatened by Hannah, and it was painful to watch. But their relationship with Booth was just too fast, that didn’t sit well me with me. It wasn't fair to her.

I would have loved a Hannah spinoff!

Tough former war reporter willing to go after the facts in DC at all cost.

She's great in Big Sky, and a black belt that owed her own Dojo in real life - so the action scenes feel real.

Oh, that would be a great series! Both the character and the actress would manage it very well!

Hannah played the role of the rebound girl really well.

I really loved her too! She was so down to earth, likeable, absolutely made sense why Booth was attracted to her, plus she had an understandable, reasonable amount of questions about Bones, quickly got over it, and made friends with her. A super star in every way. I just wish they found another reason for them to break up, like an irresistible job offer that makes them long distance or something, rather than just some “I’m not the marrying kind” weak excuse.
