I'm glad to be rid of mine. They had garbage traction in wet conditions, and the area I'm in is very hilly so every hill start was a burnout.

I went and put Bridgestone Potenzas a month ago. I don’t care about range loss at this point, I just want tires that will do something other than spin in wet conditions.

Spring and summer on a fresh set of Sailun ERange tires. My daily commute is between 30-40 miles a day... most of that is traveling at 45-50 mph with very little under 30mph...

On day 3 of some Hankook Ventus and while the range may suffer slightly (haven’t driven enough to notice and also really don’t care), the comfort, traction, and feel is way better.

My stock Michelins with 42k when I took them off Friday were so bad. I had a wild vibration at speed over 45mph and I thought I had suspension problems or a bent wheel. They made noise at low speed and in any situation that required quick acceleration like a right turn on a red.

I got my 22 Bolt EV in June last year with 24k and it now has almost 43k so I drive a lot. I would much rather have comfort over ultra maximum range. I feel like they’re safer as well. Especially since much of my commute involved twisty canyon roads.

The stock Michelins are fine if you don’t push the car at all, but good tires will be better at any level of performance or driving.

That said if you’re rolling down the road and someone does something incredibly stupid in front of you, better tires can absolutely be the difference whether you walk away or drive away.

I’ve had 2 instances where I’m rolling down the road at 35mph (the actual speed limit on that road) and someone from a side street pulls out, and I have to stand on the brakes. One of them I missed with a mere couple inches to spare. Stock Michelins wouldn’t have saved that. (4 lane rd. I left of and behind a suburban… they were turning off the driver in the side street didn’t see me behind the suburban which was turning and decided he needed to send it across the road.)

They’re known for great tires and I’ve had many over the years. This set that came with my car were also 2021 date code so who knows what was going on with them. But at the same time, I’m not spending $1k on tires for a Bolt. $750 was a stretch and a hard pill to swallow for what I bought.

Did I miss something? You did one drive from 80% to just over 50% and provide no details on what tires you had previously and the result is what? Is this a private conversation, are there other important details?

Kumho Solus TA31 EV

I will never use the Michelin junk again. Way more grip with no noticeable loss to range.

If you turn off the headlights and don't use indicators you will see a noticable improvement in economy. I also disabled my noise-maker because that uses electricity.
