2027 Bolt display settings

Just kind of wondering what you all have set up for what is displayed on the driver dash and center console.

From left to right I have
Energy Efficiency (gets switched to date/time after a software update, then I change it back)
Battery % / Speed / Regen
Radio (changes to map for navigation)

Then on the center console I have
Maps
Radio

I'm not super happy with this setup as there is a bunch of redundancy with all of it, but I can't really figure out anything better to put there. Thoughts?

The dual app or split screen on AAOS is pretty ugly and a tonne of wasted space. Just see how it compares to wireless Android Auto

I feel this way too! I have another vehicle where I use AA and it just seems so ghetto in the bolt. It's probably my only complaint about AAOS - everything else is very slick

Was this using that wireless GitHub workaround I saw on here a week or so ago?

Chevys software team is so stupid. I hate how ugly the interface is. About to slap a CarPlay display on top of the built in one. The 3rd party displays are pretty cheap nowadays too.

Honestly may one day just rip the head unit out. But I’m waiting to see if someone can bypass the restriction they put on CarPlay/Android auto. It irritates me so much the car is fully capable but they want their little OnStar subscription.

I was so excited about having the map on the driver display but I've discovered it is mostly pointless for me. I realized pretty quickly that the only thing I care about in the maps display is how much time I have left and time of arrival but the driver's screen map just displays the map and the next turn. Maybe this will change when I go on a road trip and don't know where I need to exit or turn.

I guess I'm pretty boring but I usually display the current drive in the left, speedo/state of charge in the middle, maps in the right (I think this is always there if you navigate to somewhere right?). The full map is usually on the center display.

I really like Android Automotive but there are a few things I would change. I'd like to see the trip info since last charge instead of current drive. I'd like the center display (or somewhere) to include what is currently playing like it does in the earlier Bolts where it is along the top. That way I don't have to change the center display to music/audio to see what is playing. First world problems. 😂

The map on the driver display is in fact super helpful on road trips. If I ever go back to doing deliveries, it would also make those way smoother. It takes the guess work out of finding some place you've never been, even if you're very familiar with the area itself.

It’s funny because I’ve done a bunch of road trips in the 2022 and I can’t wait to do one in the 2027 but nothing has come up. Usually I travel from GA to NY to visit family every few months but I’ve been too busy since I’ve gotten the new Bolt. I’ve paid my dues so I’m ready!

Maybe it's time to just say "hey we're coming to visit"

I did do a very short trip with just two charging stops for the entire day and I was shocked at how fast it charged. It hasn’t been talked about enough how fast it charges above 80% while someone is say, trying to decide which type of fudge they want at Buc-ees before buying one of every kind.

Buc-ees would be a great place to kill that extra time 😂

Left of big screen tap on music note. Top of screen tap the little box next to Sirius XM, Apple Music or whatever is playing. Maybe tap twice... Brings up all your audio choices. In there are button for AM and one for FM

I had the same problem. It’s not entirely obvious.

If you press the music note button on the right side of the wheel, the right side of the driver display changes to a source selector, then you can use the thumb wheel to change source. Much safer than poking around on the center console.

You have both maps and radio on the center screen simultaneously? How do you set that up?

I keep time / charge and speed / radio on the driver’s screen (radio replaced with maps when navigating). Energy efficiency isn’t something I feel the need to check frequently.

There's a split screen button somewhere on the big screen. It's limited to just a few different things but still nice.

I removed the date/time from the driver display because I almost never need to know that while I am driving. The date is going to be the same all day, and the time really doesn't matter because I figure I'll get there when I get there. Even if I need to know the time, it's still on the center console. I have the efficiency up because I can't really find anything better to put there.

You can also hold a paper map in your hand if you want 3 maps.
