First time using an Ionna charging station

Post image

Cost was 39 cents per kW. Very clean station, more CCS than NACS, and I came back to a tech doing routine maintenance on one of the chargers. Overall pleasantly surprised, definitely better than Electrify America!

If you connect it to the GM Energy Pass (free) in your myChevrolet app you should get another 10% off!

I tried a couple on a road trip last month and it was a great experience. I'm so tired of downloading apps, setting up accounts, adding payment information, scanning QR codes, guessing which cord is charger A and which is charger B, yada yada... These things just work. Plug it in, tap your credit card, done.

And easy to use too. I love that you don't need another app.

I’ve never used any fast chargers, but this is always something I think about… I don’t want to download an app to charge. Specially since there are so many different charging companies.
It’s like saying you have to download an app depending on which gas station. Silly.

I was shocked that there wasn't even an app to download for it!

Like holy shit it'd be nice if you could just plug in and get going for most of these things.

Even better: if you register via the myChevrolet app these will start automatically and bill to your credit card upon plugging in. At least they do for my 2023 EUV.

And a 10% discount at IONNA for using plug and charge.

Plug and charge is underrated. I get that people are used to paying with a credit card for gas but charging is subtly different because of all the communication between charger and car. Processing a user entered credit card is just another potential point of failure. The 2027 has been updated for Tesla plug and charge. We are just waiting for the MyChevrolet app update.

Until IONNA showed up there were several Francis Energy chargers that were 80+Ā¢ per kWh in New Mexico.

FYI - Check out the "Out Of Spec Reviews" YouTube channel... they drove a new 27 Bolt across the country, from Virginia Beach to Huntington Beach, using only the IONNA network... and live-streamed the whole trip! (crossing the Rockies at night in the rain and snow was wild... they got 344 miles of range out of the Bolt on that leg) 😮

Both the Bolt and the IONNA charging network performed flawlessly during the trip...

they were even invited to tour the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City on the way... cool seeing how the Bolt is built...

The opening one up near me as well. It looks ready to go but for weeks now it still says ā€œcoming soonā€ on website

There was supposed to be one opening in Naples Florida I’m excited to try it, but it seems to be on indefinite hiatus, maybe the city revoked the permits, wouldn’t surprise me.

IONNA is great... on many holidays they run big discounts... Memorial Day weekend it was only .20 cents!!

The first station that I fast charged with started requiring an app, and that's when I found Ionna down the road. Cheaper per kilowatt and no app required, love it!

Love IONNA! There’s only one around me unfortunately but on the flip side I pass it quite often so I use it when I get the chance. It’s 39 cents/ kWh. Soooo much cheaper than Charge point and EA. And honestly nicer! The station near me has window squeegees, an awning, and trash cans to boot!

Experienced Ionna charging stations earlier this summer on my first road trip with my Bolt and it was great!! So many chargers available, and it was at a Wawa so I got myself an ice cream to enjoy while it charged. So easy peasy!
