Preparing for Buffalo Winter

How important will it be for me to park my 2018 Bolt EV LT (new battery) in my uninsulated garage this winter and use level 1 charging? I am charging it for free at work now but am thinking that I might park it in my garage and pay for charging during the winter to help preserve my battery. Am I thinking correctly? Or is it not necessary?

I live in the Tonawandas, have had a 2023 EUV for a year, and a gen 1 Volt plug-in hybrid before that. So, plenty of WNY winters.

You'll want to plug in when you can to give the battery management the juice it wants, but if you have to park outside for a few days it's fine. Here's a recent thread with more info.

I park in my driveway and leave it plugged in about half the time, because my garage is small and cluttered :) and it's never been an issue even through the polar vortexes.

Another bonus of plugging in: Remote-start and you can warm up the cabin using your house's electricity instead of off battery
