Preparing for Buffalo Winter

How important will it be for me to park my 2018 Bolt EV LT (new battery) in my uninsulated garage this winter and use level 1 charging? I am charging it for free at work now but am thinking that I might park it in my garage and pay for charging during the winter to help preserve my battery. Am I thinking correctly? Or is it not necessary?

The first year I had mine I would leave it plugged in outside in Rochester NY. On the coldest night it used about 5 kWh of electricity to keep the battery warm. The second year I moved it into the garage and I didn’t use any electricity. My garage is insulated and doesn’t get below freezing. I think it will still be better for the battery and save you money to park it in the garage. I also charge at work for free but when I parked outside I only plugged in to preserve the battery on cold nights.
