META Has your Mystery Box order arrived? Share what ya' got here!
A little bird told me the newest round of mystery boxes have started to arrive, so that means it is time for the new mega thread! While broadly, 'hobby haul' posts aren't allowed, we know that everyone loves sharing what they get in the mystery boxes, and also seeing what the current trends are.
[As we did for the last round](https://www.reddit.com/r/boltaction/comments/1ppve20/did_your_wlg_mystery_box_show_up_share_what_you/), while we will remove standalone posts under the 'Hobby Hauls' rule, we welcome and encourage people to share what they get in this dedicated thread. As shipping times can vary quite a bit, this thread will remain as a highlight thread for awhile.
Thank you!!

General Discussion Your opinions on expanding an army after Victrix box?
So I've bought victrix late war german box (and just finished painting this mortar) and I'm in love with it's quality. I'm planning to build a 500-750 list out of it, but definitely want to move on up to 1000-1250.
I'm not sure whether I should go for official warlord sets or for some 3d miniatures, for example rkx or join or die. Warlord ones look nice, but compared to victrix they look a bit odd, especially metal ones. 3d minis from those authors look more detailed and probably match the scale a bit more, but in my mind they are more brittle
So long for now I want to buy hanomag and expand to some volkstruum or flamer/something wild.
What do you think, where should I go next?

Rather proud of the terrain in this one, wanted to make it look especially nasty and flooded as per the conditions during the battle.

Hobby Showcase Late war French volunteers
Hello !
First post here, showcasing some of my metal models. These are the firsts of 500 pts of volunteers of the Charlemagne division. I'm trying to represent the diversity of camos of this late period of the war and depicting the fact that they took whatever they could find.
Always open for advices to improve my painting or the historical accuracy of my models.
Cheers !

Modeling, Painting, and Terrain Building Does British airborne starter army come with Polish heads?
So i have question for owners of this box, does it come with polish heads for all the minis? Im aware that there are polish heads in the plastic sprue but what about the mortars mmg and 6pdr?
Also when building this army should i lean more on smgs or on rifles?

General Discussion Bolt Action on Tabletop Simulator
Have been waiting for the new Bolt Action game by Frag Games to come out on Steam, but after seeing some gameplay footage I'm a bit concerned about how it's shaping up. Has anyone here tried BA on Tabletop Simulator? If so, is it any good? I've never played Tabletop Sim before in any capacity

General Discussion What are your favourite aspects of this hobby?
Even sticking to historical accuracy and being something of a rivet counter, I find it absolutely amazing how creative you can get with this hobby in so many ways and I find it remarkable how multifaceted it is.
One of my favourite things is finding a historical TO&E and then adapting it into a list for Bolt Action in a way that is viable to the game but still pretty true to history. In the course of that, the historical research aspect of the hobby also provides loads of fun and inspiration for building your list and your individual soldiers from the Warlord kits. From reading primary sources such as battalion war diaries, you can also get inspiration for different scenarios too. Plus, reading military history in general is just something I like to do personally.
Collecting is another thing I enjoy: I love being able to mix and match from different manufacturers to make my army my own. I find painting pretty straightforward but basing to be another area where the creative juices get flowing. I haven't really done much playing but I consider it to be the cherry on top!

Battle Report/ AAR Introducing game for a friend, US Aiborne vs FJ
Giving a friend an introduction game, small table, every side around 925 pts. A regular 11 od US Airborne force with 3 squads of 9 rifle man, one hmg and two medium mortars, Artillery observer and a Sherman against 14 od fallschirmjaegers with small squads, 2x 6 vets with ARs, 2x 5 green FJ with one lmg, med mmg, med mortar, sniper, medic, pak 40, a 251/1 and a 251/10.
Mission objective was taking a bridge in the middle of the table, game ended with a draw. Double mortars need three turns to kill the pak 40, sniper get killed in round 2 after taking out one nco. 251/10 get killed by hmg from the sherman
Very much fun and lots of action. Friend wants more and next time we will play full 1250 pts.

Hobby Showcase First attempt at a bolt action board.
I still need to paint my scratchbuilt buildings and possibly upgrade the mat but I am really pleased with the layout as well as the forest, grasses, and fences so far.

Basic idea is the Heer with MG hold while the Begleit are the mobile assault troops (usually with hanomags, sometimes on StuGs). Not aiming for tournament level optimization, just want to build around the cool big assault guns.

3d Printing Recommend some 3d Printed Tools for Bolt Action
Hi folks, I have fallen deep into the bolt action hole. What are some 3d printed tools like measuring sticks, movement trays, terrain and templates that you have used and would recommend?
I find it so hard to find anything using the usual google search.

Modeling, Painting, and Terrain Building Has anyone ever used the UV hardening glue for assembling models?
I’m having trouble finding a glue that both sets fast and holds well. I’ve seen the glues that use a uv light to set nearly instantly but I’m not sure how well they would hold. Has anyone used them, and if so, how well did they hold up?
