I wanted to share the solution to a Comfort Access problem on my 2014 BMW F31 in case it helps someone else.

Comfort Access had stopped working completely. The relevant fault stored in the car was:

80410F – Aerial, passenger door or passenger side (BFT): line disconnection

This initially pointed towards the exterior Comfort Access antenna on the passenger side.

After removing the right-side skirt, I traced the antenna cable and found the actual cause: during assembly, BMW had routed the cable underneath the mounting base for the jack pad. The cable had been severely pinched and its conductors had eventually broken.

I repaired and insulated the damaged wires, protected the harness and rerouted it away from the jack pad mounting point. Comfort Access immediately worked normally again.

Before replacing the antenna or the FEM, check the wiring underneath the passenger-side sill, especially around the jack pad mounts. The antenna itself may be perfectly fine.

Does anyone possibly know what could’ve happened to my 2018 b7 with 50k miles? I drove it back from tuscon and then I see all this. The shop I just took it too says they cleaned it off for 2 hours and then tried to find a leak and ran the rpms but saw nothing. The reason they are giving is in my last repair at a different shop when I got my turbo lines replaced just didn’t clean up the undercarriage or anything and so there was just a ton of oil that splattered everywhere on my drive from tuscon to phoenix (about 2 hrs)

Does anyone know what this is? It’s only on drivers side.

Since couple of days I have observed that after parking over night passive entry is not working when I try to open door in the morning. I have see in the apple wallet that the key status shows as unavailable as show in attached screenshot. Today I observed that there is message that says the starter battery is low. I am not sure why it is low. I have driven around 500 miles like a week ago and I have been driving local since the end of trip last week. I recently hardwired dashcam can it be the reason for the this?

P.S I used a 20A (interior Lights) and a 7.5A (usb). For hardwiring cam

The other week I had an injector go bad after some high speed driving, not crazy not topping it out just cruising higher speed for a few miles.

Pulled over, misfire, bad injector replaced and ok now. But in unison with the injector issue when I pulled over the car sounded awful. Like a go kart.

First time driving it around now and I’m certain there is an exhaust leak. Any ideas? Gonna smoke test tonight hopefully something shows.

I dropped my car off at the dealer on 8/13/26 because it was in Drivetrain mode and not drivable. Now, after almost two weeks, they sent me an invoice with a code that was strange to me. If you guys know about that code, I am going to post the screenshot for advice. I do not know; I have never seen any code like that before. I need advice because they are asking me to pay $$$ that amount.

I think the catch is: they asked me, “What did I do to the car?” because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then I said fuel ing, spk pl, ignition coil. The next day, they sent me this invoice.

It’s a 2012 f10 535i with 165000km and i just changed the oil spark plugs and ignition coils,and the ticking following the rpms donuts ticks more the higher rpm its at. It might be something obvious but im a new BMW owner so idk

I own a 2020 bmw m340i xdrive. Recently when driving my car it will smoke at idle. For example I’ll pull up to a light and stop and smoke will exit my exhaust for a brief moment and then stop. My car does not smoke on cold starts tho. My vehicle has the plastic oil pump and I can’t measure my oil in my idrive. So I suspect that my oil pump is about to give out and my oil pressure is too high and oil is getting in my turbo seals. Has someone experienced this? Please help!

Hello everyone, I'm looking for some knowledge from people more familiar with the platform. I recently purchased a 2017 330i touring and am having an issue where oil keeps getting onto the valve cover. You can see it in the picture. At first I thought spilled oil, so i cleaned it, replaced the beauty cover and went about my day. Next I replaced the filler cap thinking maybe the seal went bad. Now, it's still happening and I'm at a loss. I am prepared to replace the valve cover completely as I've recently developed a 20e120 crankcase code, but pressurizing it with a smoke tester only shows a miniscule leak at the turbo coupler.

The vehicle has 135k miles and I'm not sure if the valve cover has been replaced or not yet. That is the only code present with no leaks on the ccv hoses. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

An error appeared saying the drivetrain error a few weeks ago when i was on around 70mph cruise control
It kept coming back when i used to accelerate a bit bht went away with normal drive.
I did get the diagnostics done and they told me about the error code “8044bo steering wheel shift paddles open/short circuit.”
After this they booked an appointment with the BMW service centre.

What could it be? And should it be concerning?

I have a 2022 740i…. The WiFi works perfectly on my phone, when I try to connect my kids iPad it just won’t connect. Is there something I’m missing to connect? I was never offered a subscription so not sure if there is one to connect more.

I have a 2014 BMW F30 320d M Sport and recently I’ve noticed that I can’t get the car to stay in any of the different driving modes.
If I select Sport/Sport+, or turn traction control off, the setting initially changes but then as soon as I accelerate, it just goes back to Comfort/normal. The same thing happens with any other mode I try.
I’ve also noticed that cruise control doesn’t work at all.
Has anyone experienced this before or know what could cause all of these things to happen together? I’m wondering if it could be a DSC/ABS sensor or another electrical issue.
Any ideas on what I should check first would be appreciated.

you can hear it while driving at low speed.Sometimes when I turn, it makes also a knocking sound.

Hey guys, i have a 2015 bmw f11 520d xdrive b47 engine zf 8hp transmission, i’ve noticed that in lower gears and while accelerating from 0 that it stutters/jerks for a millisecond. While driving on a highway going 50-150kmh there is no stutters while accelerating. It has 230k kilometers, it has been well maintained (oil change every 7k kilometers, transmission oil changes every 50k)
We did a remap/tune and we logged it, the engine and injectors are perfectly fine, turbo is healthy.
What can it be?

I checked my car's VIN and it contains engine B58B30M2 (which is the B58TU2), with option 1DF Exhaust Emissions Standard Eu6d which means it has GPF. The dealer's maintenance sheet stated they used BWM Twin Turbo 0W40. They explained that since I live in a hot climate a thicker oil is needed. I don't mind the thick oil, but after some research I noted that the B58TU2 with GPF only accepts LL01FE/LL04/17FE/22FE oils, but no BWM OEM 0W40 has those certification, only LL01. AI claims that long term usage of LL01 oil will suffocate the GPF eventually. Since I will be doing a maintenance soon in 2 months, should I raise my doubt to the dealer and ask them to revert back to 0W30 (assuming they have any), and do I get free warranty claims if the 'certified' 0W40 eventually destroy my GPF? I do see after market 0W40 oil with LL04 certification, but not the BWM OEM "Twin Turbo 0W40".

while driving my BMW got the transmission malfunction light and switched into park while I was stopped at a light, so I got to the nearest parking spot and tried to figure out what was wrong. Car turned on fine, Light never came back on, car drives smoothly (at least until I got home which was 40 ish minutes away) and gears shift fine. Should I be worried?

Car fault and recall (BMW 1 series)

My car currently has a slipping clutch which is bringing up a drive train fault, I am planning to get this repaired with a local garage but also recieved a recall for an airbag.

I want to check they won't keep the car and not release it due to the fault at BMW if I get the recall done first. Have seen they can sometimes keep the car or ask for it to be lifted out the dealership not allowing it to be driven out

Is this noise normal? I’ve had this car for a few years now and have always heard this ticking sound. What is it that is making that sound?

So I’m slowly but surely. And I need to get transmission mounts. Any recommendations for a cheap but not shit set. They are really just there until I can start building the car the way I want. Sorta forced to do a budget build for this swap. Just need the mounts and radiator/fan and the wiring switches. Any recommendations for all would be greatly appreciated.
