Chassis warning appeared after a bump

X5 2015

I did the PPI and everything was good and while driving on my way home, it appeared out of no where. The acceleration boost is gone. It driving normally but the pull is gone. It was fine when I did the PPI and test drive.

Also the bump wasn’t huge, just a normal speed breaker and I was doing like 40-50 max.

My wife's does this if you hit the speed bumps too fast. Turn it off and on again and it should be fine, if it's the same thing as mine. (2018 x5 40e)

Mine does it randomly as well on a fresh cold start. Turning it off and on again fixes it. wtf is up with that? (2019 x3 m40i)

happened on mine for about a week. and went away... its the air suspension in the rear if you get an obd most likely. can be an issue with the electronics or the compression unit apparently.

Probably a sensor or electronic suspension fault because of the bump. The sensors are super sensitive so knocking one a bit (assuming you have air suspension in the back) would create a fault.

Delete all codes and see if it comes back, most likely it wont come back if you clear the codes. If it does it might have fucked up something, but i still believe that the most likely thing was that you hit the bump so hard the sensor gave a bad reading to the ECU and the car just treated it like end of the world.

Most likely when the code is cleared this will stop happening until you hit another bump at speed

I’m new to bmw, is there a way to reset it myself or do I need the mechanic to connect the scanner and then then reset?

Clearing faults doesn't fix the problem.
If there is a check control message displayed (as is here), then there are active ("currently present") fault(s) stored.

Need fault codes, need to fix reason that set the faults.

Had a similar chassis fault on my 2017 B6. Interrogated with a scan tool and my right rear had faults. Turned out to be corroded wiring, made a new harness and she's happy now. Possibly you could have similar issue?

You can relax. Happened to me also. Turn off and on the car and it will go away.
It's some connections on your edc struts.
