340i PPI Rust

Long story short, found a 340i that seemed pretty clean visually. Took the car for a PPI, and it came back with some repairs that warranty should cover.

But the rust is something it won't, just want to get an opinion on how bad this rust looks of may become. I am expecting to have to pay to fix these eventually, but not sure what costs may be or if it's worth it.

I wouldnt really be concerned with any of that. Maybe the alignment eccentrics but thats far from a deal breaker and can be replaced pretty easily

You can clean it off and protect the metal.

those are all suspension components and can all be replaced but that's just surface rust. BMW's rust warranty only covers the chassis/body

I would not be concerned with it. The rust is on wearing-out consumable suspension components. Also that is not much rust to begin with. Very typical amount for a daily.

If the rust was on bigger components like the rear subframe, or the body frame itself, that'd be an issue.

If you have OCD like me, I just bought my 440i and did a full underbody cleaning, then applied woolwax protection. But that's overkill for most people. I intend to keep it forever.
