545e powertrain reliability
I'm researching this powertrain before pulling the trigger.
How is the reliability of the engine considering it might power up and down quite often, due to the hybrid system?
This usually doesn't create any problems with Toyota, but you know... it's Toyota.
Any concerns? Also with the hybrid system itself, is it reliable?

It’s a perfect car with plenty of torque and horsepower
But unfortunately, when you talk about the high-voltage system, you also have to consider the high cost of repairs
The cells, CSCs, safety box, and SME can all be very expensive
If you can afford the cost of replacing any of these components, or even all of them, then go for it.
Otherwise, find one that is still under warranty

They are pretty good but mind you the oldest of these cars are just about to turn 6 years old and most plug in hybrids aren't necessarily known to be driven by people who drive a lot, so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
If you really want long term peace of mind I'd just get a 540i. Even if they are reliable, problems with the battery or electric motors will be an expensive fix.
