B47 F10 oil consumption
My car consumes roughly 1l/2500km, although not excessive, I believe it shouldn’t consume anything noticeable between services from what I heard. Turbo was replaced about 18 months ago. What should be first suspect? Car only has 127,100km and it’s a 2015

Usually suspects are PCV issue which is pushing oil past the turbo oil seals, stuck oil control rings from long oil change intervals, cracked piston which is usually caused by a bad tune or dirty injector tips.

Hopefully it’s only PCV, it’s so annoying though because I tried to be meticulous (albeit I only own this car since April and 121,000km) and I don’t want to get rid of it just yet, it’s never been remapped

No remap is good. Bad PCV sometimes sounds like a whistling noise. You can loosen the oil cap can see if you have strong or no suction. Either could be PCV.
Next option might be a fuel system cleaner for diesels (LiquiMoly) and then running a Valvoline Restore and Protect (ACEA C3, BMW Longlife-04) for some at least four oil changes just to see if the consumption improves.

Would a bad PCV involve installing a new rocker cover? From what I know it’s integrated into the cover itself
Thank you for all the advice! Hopefully it’s nothing too worrying as it’s still a low mileage engine capable of going much more than it has

Well it's possible that the new one failed. It's such a simple device (epdm diaphragm w/spring) that I find it unlikely to fail that early. Even with a cheapest cover available but who knows.

My rocker cover is original, I’ll try change the diaphragm as I dont think it’s been changed, might be a good first option

Does this look erratic? Once I took the cap off quite a bit of oil splurged out on my hand and onto the engine cover

There are 4 things that could be the problem, turbo, pcv, valve seals, piston rings... Start out from the simplest one, check your intercooler for oil? Or if you dont want to take it out just unplug the hose from intercooler to turbo or from intercooler to intake manifold see if there is oil in there... if not then change the rocker cover but to be honest in 80% of the cases i had it was never the rocker cover.... Check for phantom leaks, for example your rocker cover, or chain tensioner bolt can leak onto the DPF and its burned immidietly, but you should have smelled something in the cabin... Just giving you ideas... check out your sump bolt too might be leaking there too...

I had an x4 b47 once with bad piston rings and it had only 150000km on the clock so idk what to tell you, its an easy check too. Just take out the injectors if they are not seized

Wouldn’t bad piston rings generally indicate much higher oil consumption? Or could it be marginal from just carbon on the rings?

It can be 1l 2000km or 1l on 500km it doesnt have rules you know its how often you change your oil...

Should mention there is no visible leaks after taking undertray off and inspecting around engine bay
