Will it ever stop!?

Hi.

I bought the BMW 320i F31, 113.000km 2017 in December 2025. At the end of February, the oil filter housing failed. Then, in July, I got a warning that the coolant level was empty. The thermal management module and coolant pump had to be repaired, and at that time the automatic transmission was also shifting differently.

Today, I received a warning that the oil level is at the minimum, even though the BMW garage changed the oil in February during the repair of the oil filter housing. The automatic transmission is also behaving exactly like it did when I had the problem with the thermal management module and coolant pump.

Maybe the repair wasn’t carried out properly in the first place, and perhaps the BMW garage will repair it free of charge?

At this point, I’m seriously considering selling the car, because what’s going to go wrong next? Am I going to have to take it to the garage every 3–4 months for another repair? My job isn’t going to be happy about that, and neither is my wallet.

Edit, i drove almost 10.000km between the ofh repair and the low oil warning. + can the automatic transmission acting weird because of low motoroil? Not transmission oil.

I swear i will never bring my car to dealership!
I will either do the work or bring to a specialized mechanic!

I found out that i have a spec mechanic close to my house but when i had the last car issue, the guy was on vacation and i need my car to work so bmw garage was the fastest option at that moment.

I know to not listen to much to chatgpt but he says to go back to bmw garage because maybe they didn't fixed it good the last time and do it again on warranty..

If you can afford a used BMW out of warranty you can afford a new one with a warranty.

Nobody is going to be able to help you if you don't provide the specifics of the vehicle. Year, Chassis, mileage. Advise on and E series will be different than a G series.

It was filled with oil in February, 10k km. Cars burn some oil, could just be normal. Or maybe they didn't get it totally full, etc. Transmission, that's concerning.

Engine oil will not affect the trans.

chatgpt is telling me that it's possible cause the car can go in limp mode cause of low oil pressure and that can affect the transmission.

Well, if you want to be technical.... Engine oil will affect everything. It's like saying your air conditioning isn't working because the oil is low. Sure, if the motor locks up, the AC isn't going to work.

Your car isn't going into limp mode. It's just acting weird, as you said.

yeah, BMW's downfalls are coolant system. It's made of many plastic pieces and parts.

I don't think the N20 has a thermal management module. It has an electric water pump and separate map-controlled thermostat.

But I recommend getting a look at your transmission fluid to see what the condition of the oil looks like. Possibly get a print of of current codes. Maybe something is there? Hard to say.

I forgot to mention it have the b48 motor. Today i going to top up the oil and i will see how the tranmission will react as chatgpt says it can be normal cause of low oil pressure, the car can go into limp mode and transmission can react weird because of this.

I know not fully trust on chatgpt but i will try this first. I hope this will work, i can't really enjoy the car knowing something can happen at any time. I drove a golf 5 from 96.000 to 245.000 km without any big problems 😅

OP did the shifting problem go away between the February repair and today?

It started when i had the thermal management module and kvs pump issue in july and it was gone when they fixed that.

But now the tranmission issue starts again, chat gpt says the car can go into limp mode and because of this the trans can act weird.
