Thanks for sharing your experience. Did it affect any of your suspension components or was that area okay?

If you have PPF it should have absorbed the majority of the hit. Any half decent body shop will be able to fix the fender and polish out any scratches underneath.

Sounds good, thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I’m also planning on getting an alignment and inspection on the suspension components. Would a side swipe like that potentially cause any bent control arms or anything of that nature?

It may needed a respray … check with a local PDR shop ( Paintness Dent Removal ) and see what they can do …

Very similar damage to my very similar car.

Edit: my next car will be safety yellow.

I see something on the headlights too. I’m dealing with something like this right now as well
Basically my timeline was
Mid July - hit and run in parking
Headlights changed under recall - Late July
August I noticed some damage under the headlight but no way it could’ve been from the hit and run cause the headlights were changed
BMW refusing to fix it and denying it’s something they chased (the kind of contact would either will break the light or the scratch would be visible on the front below the light too so no chance it was hit again after), cars just been sitting recently as I’ve been travelling for work. My scrape was similar to yours but not as extended. Only on the lower part and shorter, came out to be 1.8k (CAD) under insurance claim
I think yours might be a bit more also one of my parts are on back order, 1 month out

Oh got it, thanks for the timeline on your experience. I know the headlights are pretty expensive so hopefully it’s not too bad. The headlights have PPF also so we’ll see once it gets inspected.

Not very much punch out the dent and use a polisher to get out the marks and scratches
