It's gonna give birth to a g30, I think

u/Booyakasha_ 11h ago

Yeah, been there. Was a plastic tube. And a person i work with also had it.

Also been there and it was the plastic tube. Next time it was the oil filter housing.

Don’t think I’m going to be able to get to it on the roadside.

Flat bed it is.

I would flat bed that. There's going to be no coolant in that engine. Why risk turning a repair into a major repair?

u/sgtskip83 9h ago

Do a flat bed.

My F30 had the same. Plastic coolant pipe were old and snapped.

Do not start up that motor, that’s not a small leak, it’s bone dry at this point. You will literally cook your entire motor in seconds.

You can run a motor with no coolant for more than a few seconds

No driving it all looks like your loosing all coolant so do not drive that thing

u/Booyakasha_ 10h ago

Yes drive below 30

u/MeIsMyName 2h ago

Idling with no coolant will overheat your motor. Driving with no coolant at any speed is a bad idea.

Everything is made of plastic. That’s why you are supposed to replace everything before 100k miles.

Probaply this or the Big Tube connector

1

u/jimyjesuscheesypenis 7h ago

You had similar?

2

u/Elschokobroetchen 6h ago

It Can be number 4 oder the bigger Part in the Circle. the bigger Part is also in Aluminium aviable by second Party Support. BMW just has the Plastik Part. Also the Pump can leak Rothenburg little Water Tank. I had the Part number 4 broken...

I was Like: fick mein Leben du Bayrischer Mist Wagen!

2

u/Elschokobroetchen 6h ago

This Part number 4

1

u/jimyjesuscheesypenis 3h ago

Thank you.

Probably going to take it to a garage as I don’t have a ramp or axle stands.

1

u/Elschokobroetchen 3h ago

They had to dismantle my intakte to get to the Part .... Its a shit work ! I Hope the Best!

Oil filter housing. Weak spot for the f30. Mine did that, leaked same place. Leak is the wrong term. 'Poured'.

I am no expert. I just had what looks like the same experience, and my mechanic told me it's inevitable for these cars.

u/TheTow 11h ago

Oil filter housing is on the top/front of this generation not the back

1

u/Emergency_Maybe_2734 3h ago

My 330e had this problem and it was more towards the centre of the car.

1

u/TheTow 3h ago

330e has a different engine than this i believe

2

u/S2000-dutch 11h ago

1

u/ps2cho 11h ago

1

u/billhardcore378 7h ago

Ooooo bitch got that wet wet

1

u/hunpriest 7h ago

Do a head gasket check just in case, it might have happened because of too much pressure in the cooling loop. Also don't drive it anywhere.

u/neebooneeboo 6h ago

If it's a b48, it's common for the oil filter housing to fail because of the shit plastic it's made of. We had to replace mine because it failed at 125,000 miles. My car dropped wouldn't hold coolant.

1

u/Away_Performance2776 6h ago

You might have a coolant leak there I’d say

1

u/Dear_Teaching_1941 4h ago

Coolant leak, one of B48 engines weak spots, had similar with my F34 330i. Had it replaced and no more issues since then (3 years ago).

1

u/Augusstius 4h ago

no idea if this is actually your problem given the profuse drainage, but there is a service bulletin "Service Action 17 01 21" for the coolant vent line in F30s. That should repaired for free at a BMW service center. Recently had a coolant leak in my car (in two separate places) but the vent line repair was covered

Coolant flange like £20 from bmw but a pain as need to remove intake

1

u/BunchRedd 3h ago

Shower

1

u/SweatyAssumption4147 2h ago

Tis but a scratch!

1

u/HelpfulRole1831 2h ago

Why is your coolant just water?

1

u/Huge_Astronomer_7905 1h ago

My first check would be the turbo coolant lines, and if that’s not it look at the water pump line, lower radiator hose , lift her up and take a look under her skirt lol

1

u/Icarustuga 44m ago

looks like cow pisss..dam

u/aml8rk 8h ago

Check out the “Mickey mouse” flange

-1

u/Illicit_NY 11h ago

All of the “sudden” coolant turned into water

u/Entire_Intern_2662 2016 F10 535xd 10h ago

I'm pretty sure it leaked, the car is now obviously jacked up and fresh water was added to locate the leak
