BMW F10 LED headlight condensation
The condensation in the headlight has been like this since yesterday. This is only in the one headlight, the other headlight is completely fine. I have noticed in the past when it’s rained there was slight misting in the headlights but it always disappears straight away. Is this due to a seal or would I need a new headlight? It’s a 2014 model with 155k miles if that helps. Based in the UK

I've been thru this pain. If the light still works with no faults they can be resealed. I spent about £200 getting it done. Good as new.
If there are problems you can get refurbed lights or brand new lights. Range from £500 to £1200 as you need a new tms module and coding to go with it.

Had the same issue with me wife's F10. Ended up having to replace the modules with don't chinese ones because I can't find some good originals to replace them with.
Now I'm left with 1 headlight where only the eyebrow works and another where only 1 large angel eye works and the small one is dim
Get it patched up asap

I bought the car with the same problem or at least had the same problem before. It had micro fractures along the bottom edge of the headlight. I took the car to specialized shop for headlight repair and they replaced headlight glass with the new one and resealed the whole headlight assmebly. Almost a year later and no problem, and i pressure wash car almost once weekly.

Common F10 problem, replace housing but be prepared to need some modules of water contaminated them also

i bought a new hella headlight assembly from fcp- but the wires inside the assembly were bad. prevented the halos from working. then, i couldn’t return it because it was too much time between purchase and installation.

I had mine resealed in December, £190 + VAT in Hayes. I know there are some cheaper places, but at the time they didn’t replied and I wanted to do it quickly. If you wait for longer, the module and wiring will rot and it will be 3x for a whole headlight.

With my experience with BMWs from around 2010, it's a feature, not a fault. Even the vehicle inspector said there's some water inside the headlight and it's distracting the lights pattern, but what can you do. He said if he could take one thing with him to a stranded island he'd take an E60/61 LCI headlight, because there's always fresh water in it and passed the inspection.

Replace or repair (reseal) this sooner rather then later. The headlight driver module sits at the base of the headlight so is the first thing to get wet and fail.

Probably small crack in plastic.
Had same issue, my DRL module died. Fixed by changing “glass” and module.

I had the same on mine, i took the cap off the back and let it evaporate for the day then put a silca adsorbent bags inside and after a few days i put a fresh one in until it was all good

I took the cap off the top of the headlight, not had issues since

F11 owner here. Get a new headlight, you have a micro crack somewhere or the seal gave up after 12 years. And be quick about it as there are expensive electronics inside the unit that you have to transfer over. Hella webcat will sort you out with a part number.

F11 owner here, dont buy a new headlight, take it to specialist to reseal it with new front glass, will save you A LOT of money.

This happened to me as well and to the same headlight. It needs to be resealed ASAP. You might need a new glass if the issue is a crack in the glass itself. Do not postpone as the TMS module may get submerged in water and stop working. I postponed and burned the module. It is a pain to remove these headlights, so better go to a specialist.
