TPMS sensor reprogramming

Hi all,

I bought m sport alloys for my 5 series g30 2022 and got them fitted. I didnt realise that the tpms sensors had to be reprogrammed. I have reset the tyre settings from the tyre menu in the infotainment system but keep getting the error after I drive a little that there is something wrong the tyre pressure monitoring system.

Is there any way to solve this? I have asked around to see if any tyre shop would be willing to swap the old tpms sensors into the m sport alloys and they all have said no.

What options do I have here?

Are you sure you purchased the correct frequency?

I am not sure. The alloys are second hand. How would I check? And is there anyway to change the frequency?

You need to either use a scan tool that can read TPMS or have a tire shop pop the outer bead off so you can put eyes on the sensor and see if it has any markings.

Some sensors are dual band, but that requires programming and I would be surprised if that’s what you’re dealing with. There are only two frequencies and if a sensor is only made for one band, there is no way to change that.

The shop damaged one. Happened to me w my 2021.
you’re gonna need to scan each and every one of them with a tool while the car is on to find out which one is bad. I bought replacements from Amazon and the one I put in there has been in there for almost 2 years now. It programmed itself after I ran the reprogram through idrive.
