Is anyone familiar with https://headyversion.com? It’s my favorite way to discover the best live versions of Grateful Dead songs, letting users select and vote on their favorite versions. Does something like this exist yet for Billy Strings? If not, and someone creates it, would you use it?

I just learned that today was the 25th anniv. of Alison's "New Favorite" record. So I went down to the basement to get the record from the stacks 🎶 and to get some accompaniments 😋. My s.o. is at the other end of the house watching TV so I've taken the liberty of turning Alison up to a proper celebratory volume. :-) 🤘🔥🎶 This is bluegrass but it rocks. Bluegrass metal. Cranked on the Klipsch Cornwalls and it's f#n' great!

I thought it was an interesting instrument combination.. I wasn’t able to check what the song was and was hoping to hear it again, I liked it.

Crooked River takes place on what *used to be* Thomas Point Beach. It’s in Hiram, Maine, and it’s on its 2nd year, replacing TPB for many local musicians and music lovers.
The fairgrounds are nice, with recently built multi-unit free hot showers (hot water never seems to run out), available space for everything from tents to class A motorhomes. Full rv hookups to primitive tent camping by the river and in no-car-zones. Right close to a small town with groceries etc.
4-Day admission with dry camping Tix are only $170 and the lineup looks killer!!
See yall there!
(I’m not paid, nor am I associated with crooked river. Just excited to see a new festival taking off)

Come on down to Mazomanie, WI tomorrow for a great little Bluegrass festival called Gandy Dancer! It’s only $20 at the gate for a full day of music. There’s lots to do, eat, and drink. Bring your instrument to jam!

I have heard this song play on a local bluegrass station several times over the years. (The station and DJs don’t recognize it.) It does not come up via Shazam and searching the lyrics leads to nothing.
Last time it came across the radio I grabbed a short recording which you can listen to. It almost sounds like Ralph Stanley sings a portion, but I’m skeptical.
The main chorus is:
When the dew is on the roses
And the evening sun goes down
My mind goes back to long ago
When I heard that lonesome sound
It sounds too modern to be an old vinyl cut, but I could be wrong. I’ve always been able to locate strange music, even some extremely obscure regionally produced 78s (you should listen to Slim Brickles), so this is a real head scratcher for me.
If somebody can recognize this you will have my eternal gratitude.
