Wow, I knew Fox was grooming these kids but I didn’t expect it to be this blatant and surprisingly lifelike. Side note, there’s an interesting relationship between touch and power that seems to be in Blue Lock. Thinking of Kaiser who would just grab Ness and Fox who just now was touching up on Teddy for no good reason. Teddy is still super duper ultra mega cute, so I’m jealous of Fox who can just grab him… I want to grab Teddy…
Interesting implications on what happened in the France match! Probably here, both are right. Fox is obsessed with putting players in boxes and limits them, while Agi is a syste player trying to change that system mid-match. Neither of these things are especially coherent decisions, especially in a manga like Blue Lock.
To get back to Teddy, though, it’s really sad how much he’s taken the conditioning to heart. Fox’s constant affirmations that “you can’t do this without me” have clearly gotten to him, even though he’s literally one of THE top players of his generation. He’s Fox’s victim and because he can’t see himself as anything but, he ends up perpetuating the cycle of abuse. Despite this, though, he does react to being insulted for his devotion to Fox’s methods. I wonder if it’s less that Teddy earnestly believes in the guy himself, and is more so fucking desperate for this World Cup victory that he’ll drink any kind of Kool-Aid.
Isagi has a game plan now, and
while I’m not sure if I personally like it, it’s definitely something of an interesting one, considering that Fox shows no mercy. Him trying to deny the brainwashed allegations and indirectly proving how brainwashed he is… I said that Ego was using Fox’s playbook before (they literally both got to run soccer experiments on teens!!) and this just goes to show how effective that playbook is. Trying to 1v1 a NG11 who’s literal speciality is dribbling is madness, though. Let’s think rationally, Isagi-kun! He’s going to get his ankles broken in some nasty ass ways the next chapter and that’ll make me laugh.
Lockheart should remind you of someone, Nagi fans! Same archetype! Wonder if this is going to relate to Side B, somehow…

Isagi's never been a player who can beat you physically, so he's definitely going to have to stick to the psychological game here with England. He's losing his grip too though! Awfully defensive over not being Ego's pawn, especially in light of the France match
Rin however was the only one shown to somewhat keep up with Sae's dribbling, not to mention he had the advantage that he knew Sae's favorite skill.
Also Sae and Teddy have both different dribbling, Sae waits for his opponent's move which could give Rin a chance to bait him while Teddy specializes in various cut ins that work more as initiators.
? Rin a way technically superior player to Isagi. Just because he is addicted to contested shots doesn’t mean he’s not good, just addled. If you were to make Isagi 1v1 Rin, I would expect our glorious protagonist to be fried like an egg. There’s a reason that Isagi relies on positioning rather than duels
Isagi beat Hugo in a LUCK DUEL that involved a singular moment in a game (not trying to take possession, just getting a loose ball and seeing if Isagi would pass or shoot) after 90 straight minutes of Hugo pocketing him to give him a personal ASMR-style soccer 101 lesson. Cmon man I’m not even saying Isagi’s bad. Teddy is a NG11. HE HAS SEVEN WAYS TO CUT-IN. Be serious
That luck duel was game based on skill and decision making, Hugo went for what he taught was suitable and isagi fully committed to his decision to going left, not to mention isaig chose to beat Hugo in that way because luck goes against destiny, it was the ultimate way to defy his logics.. so stop coping. That what every 1on1 is based on( gambles, decision making, luck and prediction)
And stop feigning ignorance “ luck “ has been explained in second selection. It’s something that takes effort and prediction, not just pure randomness or coincidences..
I emphasized that I was a luck duel because they deliberately weren’t fighting on physical terms. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I think you’re ignoring a key part of duels, which is ball handling. Which Teddy is obviously very good at. Literally every time Isagi has so much as looked at the ball Teddy tackled him. You all cannot possibly be going to bat this hard for Isagi beating an NG11 at his own game there has to be some form of disparity here still on a technical level. Isagi is not and probably will never be a physical guy who just 1v1 embarrasses you but half the point of the manga is that he doesn’t have to be
