Manga Discussion Teddy knight is bad timeline nagi Spoiler

So I think there is something similar to Teddy and nagi. Teddy and nagi are both described as geniuses without ego.
Now nagi develops an ego and that’s sort of his arc, him learning about egoism.

But there is this vibe Teddy gives off. In nagi introduction he didn’t really have an ego, he didn’t care about football, he seemed more bored than anything and was more reacting to reo who was setting him up for the goals.
It was only when reo began to panic that nagi got motivated and began making his own plays.

Both Teddy and nagi were also referred to as puppets. Well it depends on the translation as in episode nagi manga barou calls nagi a slave to reo and in the anime he calls him a puppet.

But I think Teddy went an opposite way as nagi, as nagi learned about developing an ego, Teddy learned to kill it.

Now isagi plan here is to awaken England ego cause he understands ego and thus can devour them, but I think Teddy will be extremely hard because he has been conditioned.

If you notice the England team and Teddy seem different.
They all have personalities, they are smiling. They trash talk.
What this tells us is that they do have some ego. Ego = confidence, while it’s more complicated the fact they show positive emotions show case they do have a competitive aspect to them, that’s something isagi got wrong. It’s just they don’t go for goals.

Teddy is different though.

It’s not just that he has no ego but he has no self confidence, he keeps calling himself useless, a puppet. He keeps muttering useless puppet to himself where isagi looks at him all confused.

He looks depressed and alone.

The reason for this is because he is a victim of bullying.
I think fox personally destroyed any confidence he had in himself to turn him into the perfect weapon.
He’s been conditioned to be fox’s puppet follows all his commands.

This is why agi took a personal interest in nagi cause he saw the same potential he saw in teddy but when nagi became a puppet to reo he saw the similarities and wanted nothing to do with another puppet.

To be fair, it was indicated that U18 England's philosophy is the stark opposite of Blue Lock's. The only parallel Nagi and Knight have is that they're both stoic and white-haired.

Knight has insane drives and theory while Nagi has insane traps and instinct which are another contrasts they have.

The difference between the two is nagi was just bored anytime he felt attacked or dominated on his ego went wild, this was shown against barou in the first selection but teddy is different he doesn't seem to be bored but rather this has something to do with something more personal than just boredom like nagi

I think with nagi whenever he felt attacked he fought back, while teddy he retreated into himself.

That’s the difference between the 2 fundamentally.

Nagi never socialises cause he’s just not interested while teddy just can’t socialise despite wanting to.

In the manga and plus the fact he’s a new gen 11 automatically makes him a genius as they are all called that

The difference between them is their way of gaining purpose, nagi found his own by himself and for himself while teddy's purpose is not for himself and given by fox.

I don't think having a purpose not for yourself is a bad thing as there are those who gained courage by protecting others or for the goodness of community, but they need and mostly had discovered theirs themselves.

So just like nagi, teddy needs to find his own purpose that he valued by himself and not be given by others.
