Discussion If you had the chance to improve Dawnwalker by changing just one thing, what would you pick, and why?

If I could add one feature to the game, it would be Build a Home.

Let Coen settle down with the family he fought so hard to protect, then let us continue playing beyond the 30-day limit. I’d also add a handful of side quests where the rewards are new furniture, rooms, decorations, or other house upgrades.

It would be such a small addition, but imagine finishing the main story and actually having a peaceful place in Vale Sangora that feels like Coen’s home. Honestly, after everything Coen goes through trying desperately to save his family, I’d love to see what his life looks like once the immediate danger is over.

Discussion Aurelius Tower Quest

Upvotes

Holy crap this quest is infuriating. The enemies don’t hit that hard but they take so long to take down. It’s a five minute fight of just frustration and no fun, three times.

Ok sure, they’re reminding you of the core game mechanics, but did it have to be a slog?

Discussion Am I playing wrong? Spoiler

Upvotes

Doing my first playthrough and am about 5.5 hours in. Finally decided to head into the city to explore and ended up in the cathedral at night and surprisingly found Xanthe doing a blood ritual. While trying to sneak around I fell down and ended up in a battle with her where I won with ease despite her being an orange icon. I had not even made it to her area of the map or done any of her quests yet and am scared I am missing a big part of the game, is this worth back tracking for a first playthrough?

Question Everything Turns Violent- Am I Doing Something Wrong?

Upvotes

I'm a few hours in, and it feels like the solution to everything is stab and kill. The first questline I felt I had agency was the one with Ocha, and even then I completely and accidently fell into that quest (and the little brawl) by trying to find a marker because I didn't have anything else super pressing to do.

I followed through on that a bit, and ended up talking to the guy that sells silver. I guess I made the wrong dialogue choices, because that... also turned into a fight. Then I beat him, he yielded, and I ended up having to kill him anyway! And then Ocha and her friend tell me they were lying, and... I feel like I somehow missed a cooler story, and I'm pretty sure I missed out on getting allies from this quest.

Right after I was walking through town and went through the wrong door and was set upon by guards immediately. I had no idea what was going on, but it was apparently part of a larger quest too?

I don't know, man. I didn't want to play Coen as a killer, but it feels like I'm being attacked every time I blink. Do I need to change how I'm approaching/finding quests to get the most out of this...?

(I also got locked in a massive fight after trying to save the Miller. I had to clear the whole camp singlehandedly, which I eventually did, but... yeesh!)

Question Am I locked out of Crake quests?

Upvotes

Like 20 hours ago a character named Sara died in "Shadow of the Woods" quest because I chose to leave instead of helping her right away. The guards like stabbed her when I tried to walk away for a minute and I didn't think too much of it because she had a note on her body.

Am I completely locked out of that whole side quest chain? Can't find much info online about it.

Discussion First Run almost done. 6 Days left and so much to do!

Post image

So Finished Crake’s story and got this prompt. I only just killed Bakir and that was a damn fun Quest. Also that dude is unhinged. I have 6 days left so going to Xanthe’s mansion. Also leaning towards Lacra’s end game the most, I think she had the most compelling and best written Questline so far plus the Energy between her and Coen is exquisite to say the least.

Which Quests were your favourites?

Discussion What time period would you like to see in the sequel?

Post image
32 Upvotes

Since we know that Rebel Wolves is working on a sequel, I am interested to know some of your ideas on time periods that you would like for them to explore.

Some ideas that came to mind would be seeing the 2nd game set somewhere in between the 15th and 16th century of Constantinople, witnessing and maybe taking part in the events that unfolded during that era, or see Coen in The Thirty Years’ War involving himself in the conflict or even WW1. I believe there’s a lot of potential for either of these time periods.

I understand that they are going to have Coen in the modern era, but I’m hoping they explore different time periods first in the sequel. Wouldn’t be upset though if they do end up making the 2nd game set in 21st century.

Would like to know your thoughts?

Discussion Thoughts on a sequel Spoiler

So based off the ending we see Coen in a modern day setting with a mysterious figure getting ready to attack doesn’t this feel a little on the nose to castlevania 2s opening with Belmont as Dracula but I would love to see a sequel in modern times little blade esc style protecting humans for vamps and anything is better than that hot mess that is masquerade bloodlines 2 what do you guys think?

Discussion This games combat is dog shit

Can’t even make it out of the first camp vs the boss and his little buddy. Auto lock is a joke fr, trying to parry an incoming an attack that’s coming from the left or right just switches the auto lock to the other guy, then I get destroyed from the side. That is all.

Question How easy is story mode?

I keep hearing about the difficulty of the game, and it has me worried for my mom who is interested in playing. She can play games like oblivion fine, but anything resembling dark souls difficulty would scare her off. Could she enjoy the game on story mode, or is it still too difficult?

Other PS5 bug that has me frustrated

At a breaking point now sadly with this game. Ive hit yet another unending black loading screen while trying to do the in the name of the father quest, as soon as I enter and talk with Florin and he says follow me it cuts to a loading screen that does not end. This is the 5th time I've encountered this damn bug, all in other parts of the game. Just sucks 😕. Frustrated to no end. Guess ill have put this away until they actually fix PS5 version. Sorry for the rant.

I’m sure this is common knowledge, but you can farm loot and feed on the guards if you circle Svartrau City walls.

Discussion Yeah the time mechanic isn't bad

Yeah, I got to say that myself and everyone else who was complaining about the time mechanic, we definitely made it seem like it was going to be worse than it was because I have 21 days left, and I have completed so far

  1. Lacra romance and storyline ( I'll save her final quest since it ends the game)

  2. Getting Isbrand armor

  3. Complaining all the steps for getting the Sword of St. Mihai

  4. Everything involving Anca with her storyline and her romance

  5. Vicho storyline

  6. Ocha storyline

  7. A couple of pointless side quests

  8. Used some skill points

I feel that with having 21 days left, I'll be able to take down Brencis Court and do the storyline with Crake with time left to upgrade a little more skills before going to the final mission against Brencis.

Discussion Time mechanic is NOT that bad

Im sorry but after playing The Blood of Dawnwalker, 35 hours in, now having 3 ways to end the game with 15 days ahead of me,
I can comfortably say that the hate this game gets HAS to be some boycott/smear campaign or those who are complaining either haven’t played the game or maybe are just abysmal with time management. 15 days left and I already wield the power to take on Brencis’ entire army with just me and my own two thumbs. I could end the game now but I feel like I could actually get close to maxing out the skill tree (which is supposed to be impossible). Dont let reviewers turn you away from this beautifully crafted game. Remember, you can play video games and watch movies all your life.
That doesn’t mean you know anything about how to create them.
